There are 3 3d racing games available under the GPL (if you search on
freshmeat), which would probably be suiteable for contribs:

Torcs seems to need a racing wheel. Don't have one so can't say it works.

and mandrake had in the past xspeed in contrib, but that seems to have gone. 
Xspeed was fun, but a bit early eighties
