I have exactly the same problems.

I have been away on holiday and my mail box filled by the 15th !! so I will 
have missed any previous replies

I just patched unusal_devs.h to get my camera working as usb-storage.
Else usb works fine here.

I have updated initscripts with the 12 September 2000 version on cooker (i 
do not have access to my machine for the moment, i do not have access to 
the version number)
