Need Linux keyboard!! ;-) "us" => [ __("US keyboard"),"us", "us_intl" ], i just tested with XkbLayout "us_intl" as is generated by DrakX for us... and it's quite bad :( Pablo!! you screw it up :ppp switching back to "us".

XF86Setup hates it. imwheel makes it work someplaces and stop other places It works good to reduce wrist motion if you get sore wrists. A smart entrepreneur should come up with a real good mouse with "Linux" and a picture of Tux on it ;-) > > I noticed there are two kernels installed. They work fine in Windows. This started about a week ago. I have 105 standard US keyboard. I use Windows keys to open menu or toggle/change virtual terminals. Another idea! Need Linux keyboard!! ;-)

Are you sure it's not in compss??? sure, i've just verified. i've found where the problem comes from, dependencies: hackkernel and kernel both provide kernel which is needed by kernelcfg. Alas this bloody dependency code just takes the first package available, aka hackkernel :( i'm gonna do something better here! thanks, cu Pixel.

Maybe later this afternoon. Very same for me with complete expert hd install from /usr/local/cooker The garbage appears to be an error with the eighth bit from the look of the characters. Boot into runlevel 3. Changing to runlevel 5 only gives me a grey screen Install went good up until accepting the x configuration with the mouse. As soon as I clicked on "yes", I lost the mouse cursor and had to clt-alt-delete out of the install from another virtual terminal. This looks like the old PS/2 versus IMPS/2 mouse problem. I have an Intellimouse wheel mouse model 1.5a PS/2. XF86Config is correct and the mouse works after rebooting. I noticed there are two kernels installed. Hackkernel is the default and I am using it now after having to install ppp package. My /usr/local partition was not entered into fstab. I had to make an entry and mount myself. The new package selection is looking better. I don't get "lost". BTW, the double and single quote keys have to be struck twice while I am writing this email. Re: [Cooker] xdrake install
ok, remirrored it Fri. to take home this weekend. got thru the install proccess just fine. on reboot got lots of scrolling interspersed with numbers and x did not start so I went to alt-f2 had same screen full of garbage but when I hit enter it went away and let me log in. I ran setup and redid my X setup. and changes run level to 3. on reboot alt-f1 stiil is full of garbage and won't clear, alt-f2 is full of garbage but clears with enterkey, I log in and startx works fine taking me to KDE. I haven't had time to check out all the usual program yet. Maybe later this afternoon. Re: [Cooker] xdrake install
hmm. no its not there and not on my mirror either. in the mirror it should be in for example ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distributions/mandrake-devel/cooker/Mandrake/mdkinst/usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_VGA16 ? cause if I look at several mirrors they don't have this structure in them either if this is not where it is located ... then where? under Mandrake on the cd-rom I just have Base, Instimage, and Rpms. ps. I am looking at it in windows so may have lost case, but I wrote in on another mandrake box with the directions on the cooker page on the web site. Re: [Cooker] xdrake install
no it wasn't doing that, I added another dimm. it only had 16 meg ram now has 48. so now it get a little furthur. of alt-f1 I get in second stage install Use of an unitialed value at /usr/bin/perl-install/modules.pm line 173 (#1) then an explanation of the error on alt-f2 screen starting a ways down called mount (/tmp/ram3 . removing device file /tmp/ram3 method selection completed state saved to /tmp symlink /tmp/stage2 failed second stage install running extra log messages are enabled running insmod serial running insmod_ /lib/modules/serial.o Error: Died ar /usr/bin/perl-install/install_steps_graphical.pm line 206 it is setting at this point now, if you want me to tell you something else.
