If you do a:

cat /proc/cpuinfo

as root you will probably see it actually running at a lower speed. From
what I've read, all recent Apple laptops start up at reduced speed.
rob

U are right, this a power manegement feature... to save the batterie

And u can alse use the same frequency in Macos X when u set the reduce
speed feature in power menagment
But i not sure if the apple profiler will tell u the real speed.

And I dont know any software that will do so, or any BSD command, maybe
someone else will know

What kind of hardware do you have?

Are there any other laptop users that out there that can comment?
I have a Titanium 1Ghz (november 02 version)...

The 12 inch seems to be very different from mine, sure Apple have to
change the motherboard to fit in the smaller case,
and also to support the DDR...

Hope for u that the upgrade won't be long

Thanks. I updated to this, but /proc/cpufreq is still not there.
Could there be some kind of boot option I'm missing? I checked for
any relavent modules, but didn't find any.

FYI: I was reading http://www.brodo.de/cpufreq/interface.html and it
mentioned that CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_PROC_INTF might need turned on.
However, this wouldn't explain why some people have gotten it to work.

The main distro took a fair amount of heat for this, but it would be one
way to get more on your ISOs.

Thx,

I dont think so... but seem to me that I had not install the pmud packages

Sorry Im a "newbie" to the linux ppc world... I just got my Titanium in
December...

And btw why The option CPU_FREQ is disable in the benh kernel... I read
that is the option
that provide controle for the power saving cpu 667mhz

I didn't really pay much attention to that option. My original approach
was to try and mimic the Mandrake config as much as possible. I'm going
to do another benh build real-soon-now(tm) - I can try turning that on.

Thanks send a mail when the new Kernel will be ready ... I will try it...
