I doubt very much that it is a pmud issue. I used other distros for a few 
years without pmud, but with the ability to power off the iMac without 
pressing the power button...
Moreover, as far as I know, pmud is only for laptops (which is a pity, 
because I would like very much to put my iMac to sleep. but this is another 
story).

Any other idea? I would suspect a kernel issue, but if somebody can confirm 
this before I try to recompile...
