Take a look at the source RPM spec, they're fairly well noted.  I believe
there are 2 or 3 separate patches.  If you just want to turn it off, just
de-select the "Custom Boot Logo" option in "make menuconfig".  If you're
looking to fix the chopped off bottom of the 2.2.19 version, I'm happy to
accept any patch you might submit.

Could someone point me to a patch to the kernel that replaces its 
standard 'penguin' boot graphic with the Mandrake 'Welcome' graphic?
