If you use the Applescript wrapper, you don't need to change the ramdisk size, note the ramdisk_size=34000 in the kernel arguments. BootX does not save that setting, so this was my workaround. Re: Problem burning ISO image on PC and read from mac
:-) but if you don't use the AppleScript (in my case the applescript kept giving me a strange error of not being able to load something, and since this install of MacOS was not a full install, I didn't bother about fixing it). I just wanted to point out that the instructions online for the link mentioned, show the number of the ram disk size to be 8mb which will cause the installer to go bezerk. for other linux distros (ppc) this is fine, but Mandrake ...it's different ;-) On Thu, 2002-04-04 at 16:14, Stew Benedict wrote: On 4 Apr 2002, Luis M wrote: On Thu, 2002-04-04 at 06:03, Phil Lavigna wrote: Using BootX to install 8.2 PPC: http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/demos/temp/tutorialsPPC/Install/pages/install5B.html This first link doesn't show about increasing the RAM disk size ... Problem burning ISO image on PC and read from mac
I downloaded mandrake 8.2beta2 and burned it on my pc using nero and blindwrite, checked the iso and it was hybrid, 2048b/sector, everything ok I think, but mac can't boot from this cd, but can read it normally. Some suggestions? Thank's!
