It was the case when mol only delivered sound to /dev/dsp.

But mol-0.9.64 can now use esd (see in /etc/mol/molrc.macos). I didn't 
test, but I think it can know share sound access with gnome.
Do I fail ?

Not odd.  If you enable sound in MOL you're giving the MacOS control of
the sound hardware.  Thus linux can't play sounds.
