[CnD] Recipe for Dirty Rice
This is Dad's recipe for Dirty Rice. He used to make this a lot more often when I was younger, and I still love it. You'll need: 4 cups of minute rice 3 cups of water 1 stick of butter, broken into smaller chunks 1 pound ground beef 9 beef bouillon cubes 1 tablespoon seasoning salt 1 can of corn, drained In a skillet, brown the meat, then drain any grease. Afterward, mix the seasoning salt with the meat, and set asside. While the meat is browning (or after you brown it, if you're not good at multitasking) put the water, butter, and the bouillon cubes in a large pot, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the butter and the cubes. Once the mixture boils, quickly stir in the rice and turn off the heat. Once the rice is mixed in, pour in the meat and the corn. Stir both of those into the rice mixture. The rice will very shortly absorb most of the broth, which will make it just perfect. Once everything's all mixed up and the rice has absorbed the broth, serve and enjoy! As a variation to this recipe, if you'd like to make a spicy batch, mix in 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes instead of the seasoning salt. [CnD] Stainless Steel cookware
We recently bought a set of stainless steel cookware. I know you can put it in the dishwasher. We cooked some grilled cheese in one of the skillets the other night. We used a combination of butter and sprayed some cooking spray on the pan. When I washed the pan in the dishwasher the pan did not quite come clean. It still felt sticky in spots. What is the best way to clean the pans? Also, when cooking, do you not have to cook things as high as if you are using non-stick cookware? Sorry for the long email. Thank you in advance?
