[CnD] Flourless Chocolate Cake For Passover
Flourless Chocolate Cake For Passover 2 C semisweet chocolate chips (12 oz) 1/2 C butter plus extra for coating 1/4 C sugar 1/4 C water 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules 3 eggs Whipped cream for topping Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Butter the bottom and sides of a 9- inch pie plate. Place a 12 inch square sheet of wax paper in the plate and butter the wax paper. In a medium-size saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, 1/2 C butter, sugar, water, and coffee granules. Heat over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, until the chocolate and butter are melted, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in the eggs until the mixture is smooth. Pour into the wax paper-lined pie plate. Bake for 10 minutes; the cake will not be completely set in the middle. Cool, cover loosely, then chill for 6 to 8 hours, or overnight. When ready to serve, remove the cake from the refrigerator and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Invert the cake onto a large flat serving dish and remove the wax paper. INGREDIENTS: 4 1-oz. squares semisweet chocolate, chopped 1/2 cup unsalted butter 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup cocoa 3 eggs, beaten 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla PREPARATION: Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Using solid shortening, grease an 8" cake pan and dust with cocoa; set aside. In microwave, melt chocolate and butter in bowl on medium power, stirring once, until melted. Here's what a friend of mine, Armando had to say about icing cakes. Try spreading the frosting on the cake the best you can without touching, then take a piece of wax paper lay it on the frosting, and then use your hands to feel whether the frosting is even, then just use your hands over the wax paper, and smooth it out much the way you smooth a blanket or a sheet on the bed. Crock Pot Turtle Pudding 1 21.5 oz. package brownie mix 1/2 C. water 1/4 C. oil 1 egg 1 C. chocolate chips 1 C. walnuts or pecans 20 caramel candies unwrapped whipped cream or vanilla ice cream Place a vegetable steamer or other low rack in the bottom of a 5-quart slow-cooker. Pour in 4 cups very hot water and turn on to high. In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, water, oil and egg. Beat well to mix. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Butter and dust with sugar a 2-quart soufflé dish that fits in the slow-cooker. Pour the brownie batter into the soufflé dish. Push the caramels half way into the brownie mix, do not bury completely in the brownie mix. Wrap the dish in a double thickness of foil. Tie with a string to use as a handle for lowering and raising out of the Crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 4.5 hours. Remove the dish and let set for 30 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream with chocolate hot fudge sauce. Here is one tip I had for icing cake, but I have not tried it: Freeze cake 1 hour for easier frosting without crumbling cake I also heard to spread a thin layer of icing for the first layer, then it is easier to add the rest of the icing.
