[CnD] Snowman Cheese Ball-Dale

2016-10-31 Thread Sugar via Cookinginthedark
Snowman Cheese Ball

Prep Time: 15 min

Total Time: 1 hr 15 min

Makes: 16 servings, 2 Tbsp. each

1 container (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread

2 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives or green onions

1/4 cup PLANTERS Slivered Almonds, toasted

1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne) or to taste

1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese

Peppercorns

1 baby carrot

MIX cream cheese spread, cheddar cheese, chives, almonds and red

pepper until well blended; cover. Refrigerate 1 hour.

DIVIDE mixture into 3 different-sized balls (1 small, 1 medium and 1

large). Coat with Parmesan cheese. Arrange on serving platter in a

line to resemble

a snowman lying down. (Largest ball should be at bottom of serving

plate for base of snowman. Smallest ball should be at the top for

head of snowman.)

Decorate with peppercorns for the eyes and mouth. Add carrot for the nose.

SERVE with NABISCO Crackers and cut-up fresh vegetable dippers, such

as carrot sticks and celery sticks.

Notes:

First of all, I did not use all the name brands indicated in this recipe.

I let the mixture chill for about 45 minutes in the fridge after

mixing it up, then I formed it into balls, three sizes, and let them

continue to chill for about another 30 minutes.

I used fresh grated Parmesan cheese instead of the fake stuff in the

can. It makes a huge difference.

I also had to cut down the baby carrot so it would look right for his eyes.

The pepper corns for his eyes were ideal since Frosty the Snowman had

his eyes made of coal.

The finished snowman looks like he is covered in coconut Candace and

Schyler said.

He was eaten long before he could melt! (grin)

Enjoy,

Dale

If we could look into each other's hearts and understand the unique
challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more
gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

[CnD] dinner in a pumkin

2016-10-31 Thread Steve Stewart via Cookinginthedark
1 pumpkin medium size
1 onion small
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup mushrooms
1 10 3/4-ounce can cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups white rice

Cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin and clean it out. Make sure you get all
the guts and seeds out but leave the pumpkin entact.

Put rice and water in a microwave safe dish and cook on high until rice is
tender (about 15 minutes.

Brown ground beef in a large frying pan and add onions to saute. When ground
beef is no longer pink add the rest of the ingredients and stir until completely
mixed.

Mix ground beef mixture and rice together and pour into pumpkin.

Put the top back on the pumpkin and bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Be sure to scoop out part of pumpkin when serving.
