Re: [CnD] OT; welcome new moderator

2011-10-01 Thread Kimberly Ruf

Hello List,
Well, I don't post on here much but I'm going to say this. I love the
recipes. I take the ones that I like and so on. However, Steve said to send
your welcome emails to Sharon off list. I'm guessing that's why he posted
her email and he said, send your welcome emails off list. But yet, here's
one that welcomes her on list.
I don't know Steve, and I don't know Sharon, but Steve has sent so many
kind reminders about list rules, yet, they still go unnoticed. I want to
thank you all for the recipes. I've contributed a few but when someone asks
for a recipe and there are many many of the same ones, then I don't usually
give my version if it's similar. Please don't waste your time trashing me
for my opinion on the list, as it does take up time instead of people
reading recipes. this list is for recipes and cooking suggestions. I believe
that's why there are emails that show the person's email address so you can
send them personal emails not relating to the list. I think I just can't
handle the traffic anymore. I work all week and don't have a lot of time to
go through all of these recipes so I tend to hit delete a lot. I hope the
rest of you enjoy the list. I did when I was here.

Re: [CnD] hi my first recipe

2011-06-12 Thread Kimberly Ruf

Hi Becky,
That recipe sounds great. Another thing I do with french toast, is that
before I soak it in the batter, I toast it so that it doesn't get soggy, yet
it gets covered nicely in the batter and is easy to deal with.

Re: [CnD] Labeling cans and freezer items

2010-12-30 Thread Kimberly Ruf

Hi Vicki and others,
I just recently bought one of those id mates, the ones that are a
talking bar code scanner? I got mine on blind mice mart because it was on
sale for $500. It helps me a lot cause it reads boxes, cans, bottles, etc.
It doesn't read everything, but it does read i believe over 2 million items
and it's constantly being updated. Hope this helps.

Re: [CnD] Labeling cans and freezer items

2010-12-30 Thread Kimberly Ruf
If I find any sales on them, I'll send it to the list. I think they are a
must have for all blind persons. I tried to get BSVI to get one for me but
my counsellor at the time said, arbitrarily every blind person should have
one. Well yeah, but he didn't buy me one and it's probably a good thing
cause it would've been full price for BSVI. Good luck.

I have to agree with May,
I make my bacon on the George Foreman grill and I love it. It can come
out crispy or a little soft, depending on how you like it.
