Re: [CnD] Fw: Creamy Lime Jello Salad
Claudia, I have made this salad with lime jello and used cottage cheese. People might see that it is there but the cottage cheese blends in to the mixture. It is a delicious salad, doesn't take much time to prepare and is a great potluck dish. [CnD] Fish recipes
Yesterday I purchased some tilapia fish at the store and does anyone have recipes that I could prepare by either baking it or grilling on the George Foreman? Thanks. Vicki ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
Re: [CnD] Problem with Keurig Coffee maker
Christina, does your Keurig have two buttons in the front--one is at the top and the other is at the bottom? If so, do you know which one is for power and which one is for brew? I'll check the compartment where you put the water in and make sure that it is secure. [CnD] Problem with Keurig Coffee maker
Maybe someone can help. I bought the Keurig B30 coffee maker personal brewer from Amazon and tried to use it today. I put the water in the slot, the k-cup in and plugged it in. I then found two buttons, one for power and one for brew. I have pressed them both times and nothing happens. I also put the cup on the tray and the two buttons are on the front on the right hand side. Does anyone know what button is for what and what I must do to make this thing work? Perhaps if you do not know, you have a friend who might. Vicki ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
[CnD] One more question about Keurig coffee makers
I took a look at the Keurig coffee maker yesterday in Macy's and noticed that there is a button where you press it to determine the size of the cup to use. If the button does not click, how do you use it? Perhaps some of you use Keurig coffee makers where you do not have to switch the size of the cup. Let me know. [CnD] Kuerig Coffee Makers
The Kuerig coffee makers are becoming very popular and has anyone used them? I live on my own and want a smaller one or one that I could use for company to make about six or eight cups of any beverage. Where do you buy your coffees or hot chocolate? From what I know, you have to use their brand. Vicki ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
Re: [CnD] Jello Mold?
I would say that probably using four cups water was too much. The added cool whip becomes a little liquidy as well. Next time I would use two cups water and just boil it in the microwave. Then add the jello, stir it until it is dissolved and cool slightly. Then add the drained fruit and cool whip. I also find that when making jello salads, the recipes that do not call for cool whip thicken very well. There is nothing wrong with using the cool whip but it will not be as thick. [CnD] Crockpot macaroni and cheese
Here is a recipe that I made for a potluck last New Years day and flour is not involved. 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk (if you feel that it is too much liquid, you could cut back a bit) 1 and ½ cups milk 8 ounce package macaroni (I used a little more) 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon salt 3 cups shredded cheese ¼ cup butter melted 2 tablespoons minced onion Cook macaroni as directed on package. Drain. In a large bowl, mix the macaroni with all other ingredients. Place in a crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2&1/2 hours. I cooked the casserole on high for about two hours and then turned it down to low. This recipe feeds a hungry crowd and is so easy to prepare.
