Put your finger in the cup where you want the
liquid to stop. You will know when you hit that spot.

It sounds like people around you are trying to
teach you what they can. When you have questions
about how to do something, you can ask, and
people will tell you what they do, if they can
describe it in words. I am not a coffee drinker

[CnD] Sunny Vegetable Salad

2018-01-21 Thread David Pearson via Cookinginthedark

I'm not sure, I might have gotten this recipe
from this list some years ago. It's so popular, I
thought I would bring it out again. We go to
gatherings now and then and my wife makes this
sometimes to bring along. Every time she does
none of it is left, people will take home any
left overs. Thought someone would like to try it.

Sunny Vegetable Salad

12-16 Servings
Prep: 15 min. + chilling

Ingredients
 • 5 cups fresh broccoli florets
 • 5 cups fresh cauliflowerets
 • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
 • 2/3 cup chopped onion
 • 1/2 cup raisins
 • 1 cup mayonnaise
 • 1/2 cup sugar
 • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
 • 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
 • 1/4 cup sunflower kernels

Directions
 • In a large salad bowl, toss the
broccoli, cauliflower, cheese, onion and raisins.
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar.
Pour over salad; toss to coat. Cover and
refrigerate for 1 hour. Sprinkle with bacon and sunflower seeds.

Re: [CnD] cooking bacon

2017-10-19 Thread david pearson via Cookinginthedark
Using a microwave. Put bacon on a paper plate, cover with paper
towel. You have to experiment with cooking time because all
microwaves are different. Start with one or two pieces for two
minutes and go from there. Once you find the time you like it will
never change. Take the bacon off the paper plate and toss the plate
with the grease and the paper towel in the trash. It can't get any
easier that that.

I have a Whirlpool microwave. All I did was call Whirlpool up after I
bought it and told them I needed a Braille overlay. I gave them the
model number and they sent me a sheet of Braille that fit over all
the buttons. So all the buttons are now identified. I understand they
will do this for all the different kinds of machines they make.

Hello,
You may want to look at the Panasonic model microwaves. I have an
older model that is still working and has raised buttons which I
memorized what they do. There still may be models like this out
there (haven't been shopping for one for a while.)

Good luck. Happy Thanksgiving.

Ah, nice to be able to get the messages again. i was wondering what
happening to my messages and where the group disappeared too, smiles.

Anyways, our microwave is dying and i'm wondering what people use
for a good easy to use accessible microwave.

I know about the talking one that's on blind mice, but if I don't
have to spend almost 300 or more for a microwave that would be
great. I'll save that as last resort.
