the K machine can be annoying to deal with, but some models have the
buttons you can push. also, you need to know how to from time to time
clean out the needle areas and the machine running either vinegarr or
lemon juice or their own desolution product. the machine is great and I
love mine, but we have had several times when I had to work on the
thing, but it is still working thank god, smiles.

I have a large size model of the Kureg and I’ve had it for some number of years
so don’t remember the exact model. It does not have a touch screen. There are
about six buttons on the front; one lets me select the size cup, one starts the
brewing for coffee/tea, one is to rinse out where the pod was just used, if I
remember another does just hot water for things like instant oatmeal or
bullion. There’s a rocker switch on the bottom back side that does a reset
when/if it doesn’t start reheating the water or you just want to reset your
settings. Not so difficult once you get the hang of it. Get someone to go
over the buttons when you first get it and you should be okay from there. You
can easily feel all the buttons unless they’ve changed the setup over the years.

A tamale isn't the problem, it's a good tamale, and as someone who ate
tamales almost from the crib I'm sort of picky about my tamales. In this
area tamale production is a standard form of entrepreneurship for Hispanic
and Mexican-American women, but since I don't work in an office I don't have
the almost ubiquitous Latin co-worker with a family member who makes tamales
for her family member to sell at work.
So that's why I'm listening for recipes to indulge the roommate's
experimentation.

I'm unable to get her recipe for the fruit tamales, as she's currently at

curious as to what you turned up for the meat fillings. I've had a problem
finding decent tamales -- it's hard to predict what will be available from
independent cooks, and the different specialty places that make them in the
area are inconsistent in quality. My best tamale source, amazingly enough,
is at Braums, but my roommate has expressed interest in making them
sometime, so that's why I'm always interested in recipes for them.
Our front door has a sign up advising people of the rules of the house, and
one of them is as follows: "No solicitation. Exceptions will be made for
Girl Scout cookies and tamales."

To make this we'll need recipes for the filling too, as it's definitely more
than just shredded meat. My former sister-in-law made a variation on this
with raisins, diced apple, coconut, and chopped pecans, and she formed them
as flat triangles instead of rolls. They were well liked by my family. (Far
more than she was, but she was a drama queen who threw fits if she wasn't
the center of attention) I've also encountered tamales made with cheese and
spices or beans.

It seems very self-explanatory.

The Foreman grill I had has plates which do not remove so you know it

The drip tray goes into the machine in only one way.

At this point my only question is the buttons. I am guessing that the
large button on the far right is start, but I don't know the sequence
of the settings. Ward did list them yesterday so I'd just like to
confirm the sequence.

Ward also mentioned that you press start, your food selection and OK.

The manual indicates that there is a wait for the machine to warm up
and then a tone to indicate that it is ready for food to be placed.
Then there is a tone for rare, medium and well done.

I am very anxious to try it but thought people might like to know that
the manual found on QVC is available, and you don't have to be a

Years ago I used to make barbecued ribs; well, I cheated a little. I
would get ribs in the groceries store and a bottle of Open Pit
Barbecue Sauce. Back at home it was a simple matter of putting the
ribs in a crockpot, making liberal use of that sauce, and cooking
those ribs on high for the first hour, switching to low, and going to
bed. In the morning I would turn off the crockpot first thing, grind
my morning coffee, and go off to take a bath and get dressed for
work. After my morning coffee, I would put the removable crock in the
refrigerator. After work I'd make whatever I wanted with the ribs.

I even took those ribs to an in-office luncheon we had. They all
disappeared! Just a thought about barbecue, and I loved the way it
made the house smell.

I stuff the bird with oranges removed from their skin. Then I either remove the skin on
top of the bird and cover it with slices of bacon or a mixture of creamed butter, pepper,
salt, and crushed garlic. I place this in a turkey roaster or pan and cover and cook it
at 250°f for 45 minutes per pound, a "low and slow" method that gets a very
tender turkey. You also want to have a meat thermometer handy, so you can check the
internal temperature -- insert the meat thermometer into a breast and check the
temperature, and when it's 160°f inside then it's done. I've used talking meat
thermometers for this and it's worked fine. The meat will fall off the bones this way.

propper fiddling and cleaning, it works just fine again. i like that i
con't have to worry about spilling coffee when pouring it in my cup the
best. wish the k cups itself was more cheap though. we also have the

how do you use the regular coffee? i have a k machine and you have this
cup you fill up with the coffee grins. is that how this other machine
works? thnks. i do have to admit, the k machine does have some flaws
that you have to fix periodically and sometimes can be a bear,
especially the pump. It is fixable, but we've had the pump act up twice
in less than a year, but thanks to the internet, we were able to fix the
issues.

Hi Everybody,

If you want to invest in an appliance that will get a lot of jobs done, such
as chopping, grinding, mixing, and emulsifying, there are two that I
like. First, the Living Well Health Master. You can turn whole fruits and
vegetables into vitamin-rich meals and not have any wsate. You can mix
things
like apples, spinach, broccoli, strawberries; whatever fruit you want
together and create a healthy drink that isi packed with nutrition. So if
you hate
broccoli or spinach, you can disguise them in a drink. You can make homemade
ice cream and sorbet using nothing but fruit that has been frozen and maybe
a little honey to sweeten it up. It's great for those who are trying to lose
weight.

Next, for cooking, there's the Nuave Oven. It makes the mostmouth-watering
meats bursting with flavor.

I have one I got many years ago from one of the cider mills around this
area. It divides the apple into sections and you put the apple on the
counter and put this metal thing on top of the apple and try to make sure it

is straight and push straight down. The apple comes apart in sections and
hopefully the core is in the small section in the middle and the other
pieces of apple are in wedtes I guess you would call them. It oesn't always

line up perfectly for every apple but I can feel the hard cory pieces in the

center and cut them with a knife if it is a bit hard. I don't always use it

anymore but it gets it close and then it is easier to put the apple pieces
in my mouth. I cannot bite into a raw apple anymore.
I am not sure where to get them. It was many years ago when Debbie and
Georgie were in elementary school when we went to the cider mill.

Hi alex.

A NuWave oven is about the size of a microwave but is taller and takes up
less space on the counter.

It cooks with the three different types of heat: convention, convection
and

infrared. Your food cooks in half the time and uses less energy than an
electric stove.

If I'm cooking boneless, skinless chicken breast, I can splash water on
it,
add my seasonings and place in the NuWave. It will still cook more
quickly

than doing so in a standard oven.

The recipes are slightly different as far as times to cook and the other
things you can do that you wouldn't think about doing in the ven. For
example, you can dry fruits in it, bake potato chips from scratch...those
are just a couple things.

I've tried the recipes that came with the device and I just wondered if
anybody uses it and does things that may not be in that book...along with
the times.

I'm not sure of anything dripping from the top. It could be a different
version from what I have.
