[CnD] chocolate chips

2012-12-02 Thread carollablady
I have a kitchen scale, so measured the 12-oz. bag of chips to make sure
it was actually 12 oz. There are exactly 2 cups in the bag. Therefore,
1 cup chips equals 6 ounces.

They do melt a little, but they don't change shape.

How do they accomplish not melting them?

[CnD] chocolate chips in granola bars

2010-01-26 Thread gail johnson
Is it possible to make granola bars or other type bars with whole
chocolate chips mini or regular?

My husband claims that he has eaten a brad of granola bar in which the
chips were not melted.

Every recipe I have ever seen says to put the chips in with the other
ingredients like oats, brown sugar etc. and bake for -- amount of time.

This would melt the chips? yes. no?

The fiber 1 bars have mini chocolate chips in them that don't seem melted to
me and I also agree with your husband.

No, it wouldn't melt the chips. They would melt only if you melt them before
adding to the mixture. Just like they don't melt in chocolate chip cookies.
