Hi Daniele:
This is usually due to setting
$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
which is best avoided. I think the ccp4 shell initialization scripts do
this still.
If /Applications/coot.app requires that, it is broken.
Before doing anything radical like reinstalling OS X, unsetting
$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH is at least worth a try, i.e.,
export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=
on bash or zsh, or
unsetenv DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
on tcsh should do it.
Also, you could try installing coot from here, as a control (or an
alternative):
