*Job Description: The GFTS Portfolio Architect is responsible for day-to-day
delivery of the GFTS portfolio architecture function, managing the delivery
of architecture services to assigned development portfolios and their
customers, with focus on both strategic alignment of business and technology
architectures and tactical delivery of architectural design services in the
context of portfolio initiatives, programs and projects.*

* Technical Skills:*
- 10+ years of hands-on development with at least 2 years of hands-on
systems architecture experience in a complex, multi-vendor systems
environment.
- Specific experience in high volume, complex event processing, workflow,
analytical applications. Technology experience should include: J2EE,
Workflow/BPM, ESB, Databases (Oracle, Sybase IQ).
- Solid understanding of systems, business, data, and technical
architecture disciplines, including exposure to such key methodologies and
approaches as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Business Process
Management (BPM), data/information modeling, and
high-availability/high-performance systems design.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk systems, including risk
management functions, risk measurement approaches, and transactional and
reference data, with at least 2 years of experience in Risk systems
development or architecture.
- Ability to execute upon an appropriate business-aligned strategic
architecture vision for a major functional area (such as Credit Risk or
Market Risk.
- Strong familiarity with both traditional and agile software development
lifecycles.
*Non-Technical Skills:*

- Ability to establish strong working relationships with technology
delivery teams, business and operations partners at all levels of the
organization.
- A broad understanding of the Enterprise Risk function in the Financial
Services context is required, including business and regulatory drivers,
methodologies, processes, products, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written business and technical communication
skills.
- A motivated, self-directed, highly proactive attitude and approach.
Communication skills are vital - MUST be 9/10 at a minimum
