Please send resume to ha...@tgclonline.com Storage Engineer Location:Helena,MT Duration: 1-2 years The Storage Engineer’s primary duty will be to assist the State of Montana with establishing best practices and a long-term strategy for ourstorage and backup solutions. They will be working in a team environment and act as a mentor for the team in implementing processes and procedures. The successful candidate must be able to write in a manner that is understandable to a non-technical audience and be comfortable in a leadership role. Responsibilities · Assist in design and implementation of new storage systems (disk arrays, SAN fabric, tape libraries) · Mentor and train staff in all areas of storage systems · Establish best practices and operational procedures for storage systems · Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies and plans · Define and implement capacity planning and performance monitoring metrics for storage systems · Develop necessary interfaces to other systems such as reporting, billing, job scheduling, etc. · Perform required maintenance – firmware or software patches, updates, etc. Assist in the development of a long-term storage strategy Skills Required * Extensive knowledge of disk, SAN and tape storage hardware and software * Extensive knowledge of procedures and practices for storage, backup and recovery * In-depth technical knowledge of NetApp FAS 3100 arrays and software, including Data ONTAP, Snap Manager, Operations Manager, Provisioning Manager and Protection Manager * Technical knowledge of fiber channel switches and fabric manager software, preferably Brocade Directors and HP Data Center Fabric Manager * In-depth technical knowledge of backup software, including CommVault Simpana Backup and Recovery * Knowledge of tape library systems, preferably Qualstar TLS-8000 series libraries * Strong communication and mentoring skills * Experience in networking, server operating systems (Windows, AIX and Linux), and databases (Oracle and SQL) is required, especially as it pertains to storage, backup and recovery. * A general understanding of information technology terms * Superior written and oral communication skills * Strong interpersonal and consultative skills * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Knowledge and Experience · Minimum of five years in storage and backup technology disciplines · Familiar with business requirements gathering/analysis techniques Experience in writing strategic plans, processes and procedures Education Requirements · Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Five years of work experience in storage, backup and related technologies may be substituted for the degree requirements (above and beyond the five years necessary in the knowledge and experience section) -- Thanks Regards Harry Arora TGCL (Tech Global Consulting Lines,LLC) Fresno,California,USA Ph: (925) 353-3884 FAX: (559) 325-7911 Email:-ha...@tgclonline.com email%3a-ha...@tgclonline.com Visit us: www.tgclonline.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups CorptoCorp group.
