Job Title: Tech Lead (Python) Job Location: New York, NY Job Type: Contract (6Months) Role: Design and build software in Python using a scrum-style delivery cycle for systems integration across NBC News’s edit and media asset management platforms. Required skills & experience: • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience • Minimum 2 years software architecture and development experience using Python • Experience interfacing with relational databases using SQL Alchemy, ideally including both design and implementation • Experience developing software against documented third-party SOAP APIs, preferably using the Suds client library • Experience writing SQL queries, preferably working with SQLite and/ or Oracle databases • Experience developing for and deploying to GNU/Linux systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Oracle Enterprise Linux • Working familiarity with Java code Highly desirable: • Experience designing software to manage business-critical workflows using a relational database and ORM • Experience building Restful web services using JSON for data interchange • Experience building interface(s) to search engine(s), preferably with knowledge of Lucene • Experience working with messaging and message brokers such as Active MQ • Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies for software development and delivery • Familiarity with components of the IBM WebSphere and/or Information Server products • Familiarity with Avid Interplay production asset management toolset • Familiarity with Viz Ardome media asset management platform Thanks & Regards, Ajay Dutt Sharma, Tanisha Systems, Inc.
