*Job Responsibilities:*

1.   Support and implement existing and new database systems to assure
quality and efficiency of the systems meet the requirements of the company

2.   Develop, document assigned database implementation, enhancement,
and operational policy guidelines

3.   Implement, and normalize database systems

4.   Define, create, organize, maintain logical, physical, and
production databases

5.   Execute test data and test program performance necessary to assure
program/system performance according to design specifications and end user
requirements

6.   Maintain system end user documentation necessary to ensure
effective end user operations and IT support

7.   Technical proficiency in the development and implementation of
medium complex database systems

8.   Maintain database backup/recovery standards

9.   Maintain database disaster recovery plans and processes

10.   Maintain, review, update database security standards

11.   Analyze database application security settings and recommend changes
to improve security configurations

12.   Assign user access levels as authorized

13.   Initiate support activities including problem analysis, technical
evaluation, work estimates, and implementation services

14.   Participate in support activities with all applicable constituents
including customers, IT staff, vendors/third parties, and business managers

15.   Understand the interdependencies of all applicable constituents
necessary to complete support activities

16.   Identify resources and communications to facilitate work completion

17.   Develop logical data models and program interfaces for applications
systems

18.   Intermediate troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities

19.   Keep current on technologies through self-directed learning

20.   Train new team members

21.   Assist team members with the orientation to policies, procedures, and
responsibilities

22.   Provide support for questions, problems, and ideas

23.   Serve as an escalation point for less senior team members for
problems and inquiries requiring further evaluation beyond the associated
skill level

24.   Participate in project and/or business meeting and engagements

25.   Participate in conference calls or visits with vendors/third parties

26.   Introduce new customers to IT services to assist in familiarizing
them with appropriate systems, services, policies, and procedures

This is a contract position for a SQL Server Database Administrator who
will assist with implementing and supporting database solutions including
upgrades, migration, implementation, setting security, management,
configuration, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Expertise in managing SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues,
performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues,
log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using SQL Server
monitoring utilities such as Idera SQLdm, BMC Patrol, NewRelic, Spotlight,
SQLSentry
• Ability to detect/ troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk
space and other resource contention
• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink
operations, DBCC commands, Clustering
• Experience with Always ON Availability groups, clustering, replication,
log shipping, mirroring and storage replication technologies
• Expert experience in implementing operational automation
• Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks,
configuration, patching
• Knowledge of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon,
DMVs, system sprocs)
• Solid acquaintance with windows server, security delegation, SPNs,
storage components
• Working knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) platforms including SSIS,
SSAS and SSRS
• Any skills in open source and/or No SQL databases
• Experience with Cloud database hosting providers AWS EC2, Azure VM and
Azure SQL Database
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
• Highly organized, structured, and process oriented.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal
and external business/technical teams.
