*Location: * *Deerfield, IL*** Job start date: ASAP *Duration: * *3 Months (with possible extension)*** Rate/compensation: All inclusive hourly rate * * This position is for a Senior ETL developer whose primary responsibilities include the following 1. Serve as a technical member of a development team and interact with client and internal teams. 2. Design and construct Reports for Marketing and Sales applications using Cognos 8.4 and 10. 3. Support existing Cognos Framework and Reports by performing continuous improvements and performance tuning. 4. Work with other skilled team members to develop software solutions that meet user expectations. 5. Effectively manage daily tasks to meet key deliverables within the software development lifecycle. 6. Should be able to work with offshore and onshore team *20%* Participates in meetings with project managers, technical support, and clients to identify and specify system requirements and processes improvements *50%* *Assists in the design, development, and implementation of new application. *Assists in the preparation of detailed specifications for programs to be written. *Uses specialized skills and technical expertise to assist users in resolving a system problem, or escalates problem to a more experienced systems analyst in accordance with service level agreements. *20%* Assists resources in providing alternative solutions and recommending the best solution based upon fact discovery and management *10%* Coordinates and monitors the development of program specifications and efforts. *Participates in the development of work plans and schedules consistent with department standards and methods. **** Specialized/Practical Knowledge:* Strong experience of 5+ years in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Systems, Processes, and Operations utilizing Cognos Cubes and Reports. • Strong experience supporting Sales and Marketing reporting and analytics solutions. • Strong experience working in the Pharmaceuticals industry a plus • Experience utilizing and interpreting data from third party vendors such as IMS Health and Wolters Kluwer a plus. • Strong Experience in real time dash board reporting • Strong background in cube builds against dimensional data as well as relational • Strong experience utilizing IBM Cognos 8 and 10 Business Intelligence Suite (Query Studio, Analysis Studio and Framework Manager). • Strong knowledge of database systems like Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza, and Relational Database Design required. • Clear understanding of the entire project life cycle including Analysis, Design and Development. • Experience creating high-level technical specifications for use by resources and for knowledge transfer • Innovative, self-motivated, delivery focused and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills with peers and users. • Able to work individually and across globally diversified virtual technology teams. • Strong interpersonal, client service, oral and written communications, organizational, and task management skills. • Ability to work effectively with clients, and management and its staff members. • Sound judgment and tact. **** Management Skill:* Participates in programs or processes Assists with program/process administration **** Interaction:* Contact with peers and direct supervisor.
