The client is in need of two Senior Contract Java Developers for the creation and maintenance of web applications in support of the Business Licensing and Elections divisions of the department. The Secretary of State’s Office collects, secures, and makes accessible a wide variety of public records; it ensures the integrity of elections; and it enhances commerce. We will hire for up to a nine month contract, beginning December 1. These contracts are renewable in 6-9 month increments. Work will be performed on-site Denver, CO 80290). You’ll be working in an organization that offers flexible hours, modern technology, and near public transportation and parking. As a senior software engineer you will work on application design, coding, and defect correction. Your ability to work through complex problems and make sound decisions will help you and the teams you work with make the best applications possible. In this position, you will work closely with business analysts, QAs, DBAs, UI/UX designers, and other developers who share a common goal: delivering highly reliable and maintainable systems that bring value to Colorado residents and businesses. *Technical Experience:* · 5 years of professional web application development using Java (Struts, JSF, HTML, CSS) · 5 years of enterprise level development using JEE or related technologies (JPA, JDO, EJB3) · 5 years of OO design and programming experience · 3 years of relational database experience · 3 years of agile development experience · 1+ years of continuous integration experience (Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo) · 1+ years of experience with web services and XML · As part of the selection process a small coding sample will be requested.
