Hi,

Debian users can use my unofficial Debian package
with courier-analog [1]. Any feedback is very welcomed.

My best regards,

Pawel

courier-analog can generate some basic statistics.

BOFHSUPPRESSBACKSCATTER=none in bofh didn't seem to do the trick.

You have to restart Courier 'courier restart'. Also, you need to remove
ESMTP_BLOCKBACKSCATTER from the courierd configuration file.

You should really read the documentation and understand how this works. It
should only take a few minutes to wrap your brain around it, and understand
where all the moving pieces are.

Generally speaking, I think most people will recommend that you not run
a backup MX. They're going to be a spam target, and they don't really
improve site reliability any more.

You need to be more specific about where you see that error. It
indicates that a previous delivery to the address specified failed.
That probably means that the address is considered "local", which would
mean that the backup MX isn't configured correctly. Without the
address, and probably all of the related lines in the mail log, there's
not much advice we can give you.

As it has been pointed out, that's true. You'd install qmail-ldap, and
compile courier-authlib and courier-imap, all according to their own
documentation. After they're all built and installed, you just need to
modify some of the config files for courier-authlib to use the field
names used by qmail-ldap's schema.

My question would be: why bother? Courier provides a much better SMTP
server than qmail does, and you won't have to hack up the authlib
configuration to make it work. Do you see some benefit to qmail-ldap
that courier doesn't provide?
