thanks for the feedback. we are going to do a blog on IP and then another
one on competition. there is much more paranoid thinking in the states
around ideas than in London, which is interesting because in the states we
advocate team spirit a lot more than in the UK.

its interesting.

[Coworking] WECREATE NYC: Don't focus on results

Hello All,

Happy New Year! As it is a new year we are all planning our big results for
the year. Most of the entrepreneurs in our spaces will be doing the same,
however we have found research to contradict this way of thinking.

We have written our theory on how focusing on results actually blocks our
brain from innovating.

>From our space in London (THECUBE <http://www.thecubelondon.com>) and our
community in NYC ( WECREATE NYC <http://www.wecreatenyc.com>), we wish all
of you guys a successful and productive 2011.

Re: [Coworking] Happy Thanksgiving From London

2010-11-25 Thread Araceli Camargo-Kilpatrick
I completely agree, since learning we had set-up a coworking space it gave
us direction and innovation...etymology plays a huge role in our brains as
it gives us the capacity to comprehend abstract concepts.

If i had continued to think of our space as a conceptual office space i
would have been limited by old patterns associated to office space. Knowing
what we were unlocked tons of ideas as i knew that i could be as
experimental as i wanted.

The industry is still at infancy, in regards to mass adoption. I think the
next stage would be to establish core values as the interpretation should be
as varied as possible. At the end of the day, the more experimental we all
are the more it is going to feed the possibilities of what a coworking space
can be.

By core i mean things like, create a conscience space, rather than just
clapping desk together in your spare office space, having a clear focus,
providing tools, etc.

See you soon

Re: [Coworking] Brainstorming: how to sell the coworking idea to a business center?

2010-11-25 Thread Araceli Camargo-Kilpatrick
Hi Thomas,

Im not sure that you would have 'sell' coworking but its values. What are
the values of coworking that would be of benefit to the company? How can
these values of coworking help them achieve their desired outcome?

The infrastructure of coworking may be a bit alien and thus may not be taken
up organically, but the values of collaboration, diversity, behavioral
patterns, etc. would be easier to integrate.

Good luck sounds like a good idea

[Coworking] Happy Thanksgiving From London

2010-11-25 Thread Araceli Camargo-Kilpatrick
Hello All,

Just wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, despite its trials and
tribulation, we are grateful for all the opportunities coworking has given
us. We as well grateful for the coworking google groups, who have shown us
what coworking is, because otherwise we would still be calling THECUBE a
conceptual office space!

Best regards,

[Coworking] THECUBE: Looking for Partners

2010-07-14 Thread Araceli Camargo-Kilpatrick
Hello Coworkers

We wanted to know if there were was anyone interested in partnering up with
us to set-up CUBES in other cities, so far we are only in london, but are
looking to expand.

1. It can be a space that already exists, but would like to re-brand
2. a brand new space

We would bring the following to the table
1. Expertise
2. Idea Engineering Consultancy(http://thecubelondon.com/idea-engineering/)
3. THECUBE ethos of innovation
4. Our network
5. Capital

The reason we are looking for partners is that we believe that each city has
its psychology and needs, so partnering with a local is ideal.

Thanks

Re: [Coworking] NJ Coworking opening March 1, 2010

2010-01-18 Thread Araceli Camargo-Kilpatrick
we are 4 months in and good old fashioned spreadsheets have held us up
nicely. we use a sign in system, which we put on a spread sheet, for meeting
rooms we have a paper diary, allowing us to change it quickly. we want to
create an online system, but the time/money to install does warrant it yet.

Re: [Coworking] Re: Question from Miami Beach

2010-01-14 Thread Araceli Camargo-Kilpatrick
Hello Angel

We found that ground level and private entrance is important as the
easy access makes it easy for people to drop by also if your members
are having clients come see them you want to find the entrance easly.
In regards to signage we are going to put one out next week, so I will
tell ho that goes, Im sure that it will direct traffic and at the very
least people see your brand and know where you are.
