[Coworking] Building a community

2012-07-06 Thread Alex Sante
Hello everyone,

I'm new to the group, and I am fascinated by the co-working movement. I am
also interested in starting one locally in South Florida. I've read
numerous articles, and most of them suggest building a community before
attempting to open a location, which makes sense of course, but how exactly
does one go about doing that?

[Coworking] Building A Community

2018-09-27 Thread Michael Jon
Hello, all! I've recently begun the journey to open up a coworking space
in my city. After reading through various postings, books, websites
etc...it seems that many owners stress the importance of building a
coworking community BEFORE opening a space. What are some key
recommendations on how to build this community. Very curious to hear what
worked/didn't work.

Thank you!

Short answer: Start making lots of friends.

Medium answer: Go to places where people gather and get to know them as people.
Organize events of your own around things you are interested in. Ensure there
is beer nearby.

And here some processes to build community (the global The Hub network uses
hosting as an operating system to build, support and innovate with the
