Hey folks- Just wanted to say that our starter site went live today. You can check it out at www.watercoolerhub.com A more robust site is planned for mid-April, and we should have online scheduling, payment and blog sections included by May 1st. If you're local (or just enjoy a good road trip) join us on Aprl 15th for a construction party and/or June 4th for our opening celebration. Cheers! By luck (or unfortune) I find myself working at home most of the time on my projects and this is becoming painfull.. As a social person (the human is not a solitairy creature) I miss the interaction with other people and sometimes find myself sitting in the shopping centre just to see some people. (Sad) Anyway, at the moment I'm exploring options for starting a coworking space in Prague as there is a large community of independent workers and creative minds out there that may benefit from collaborating in real life rather than on the web. As a start I've created the Independent workers in Prague Facebook group to get the people together and discuss issues / needs. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=74593553112 I hope to et some positive response and to be able to take it from there. I would have a floor or couch to sleep on in each city. Ive been working on some financials and hope this coming Saturday to pitch my idea for coworking space to my family. I know its not going to make me a millionaire over night. I just want to work beside creative people who are all entrepreneurs in there own right so that one day I will find the way to my dreams. thanks in advance for reading through my horrible writing. [Coworking] Re: Introducing Myself and Looking into Starting Coworking Space in TX
Hi Joel, Matthew here from Caroline Collective. We've still got lots of space available and a fabulously supportive community in Houston, hopefully you can come by some time. [Coworking] Re: introducing myself
I think Bryce's point, and I have to agree with him, is that the information you gave us tells us a bit about yourself, but not quite enough about what you'd be looking for in a coworking space (besides cheap/equity rent). If you look back over the history of this group, there are a number of posts that explain that coworking is more than just shared workspace. If you're just looking for space, this MIGHT be right for you, but know that many spaces have cultures and expectations of their own, and you may want to give them due diligence to make sure that your goals for the office that you inhabit align with, or at least compliment, everyone else's. Knowing that you are a startup, though, it sounds a bit more like you're mistaking coworking for an incubator. While there are many aspects that are the same...many aren't. It'd probably be best for you to check out the wiki and see if there is a coworking space near you, and if there is, contact the folks that run it. Best of luck with your venture. -Alex On Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 5:52 PM, Bryce [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Um Congratulations?
