AJAX API coming soon for this ;)

I can provide all that via the Uploads database. I haven't written
anything to grab it yet, but I should be able to add it to the AJAX API
as above.

Incidentally although I call it the AJAX API, my intention is to provide
a basic text string if it's not going to a web page.

If you mean that HTTP is unavailable then you're kind of stuck. In this
situation I would suspect that the SMTP mechanism would be unavailable
as well, so writing the reports to a file would be the best option. In
this situation I would suggest that you run the tests and allow the
tester to decided afterwards whether a report should be sent.

Cheers,
Barbie.

CPAN-Reporter-Smoker-Safer-0.01 released!

2009-01-21 Thread David Westbrook
CPAN::Reporter::Smoker::Safer v0.01 is on its way -- comments (doc,
code review {e.g. the way i get the test report count seems ugly},
etc) welcome.

For the moment, to count as "trusted", the default on minimum days on
cpan is 14, and minimum number of existing reports is 10 ... I'm not
really sure what's "best" for those. One issue is that looking up the
reports for a distro can be time consuming. Another is what to do if
a distro doesn't have an upload date, or the reports can't be fetched?
