Even you choose a hotel far from the venue, public transport is very good. There are also public bikes available. So some ask are there updates, yes there are. As daja wrote no of the required things is really a problem. so now is up to you to decide, we do it or we do it not. And that moves it forward, not waiting of a proposal. so what should the next steps? 1. Decide yes or no 2. Decide which day should be extra, wednesday or sunday or both or whatever, so that the organizers of Linuxwochen can ask the university for the rooms. 3. tell them the decisions One thing I like about this is that it tries out something new for LGM -- having the meeting around the time of other meeting(s), to see how this increases the interest in libre graphics and makes some new connections. I saw some movement on the Vienna thread again, so I think it is about time to let you know, that negotiations to have the LGM in Rio next year did not went well, and we are not doing it. We will probably be able to make some sponsored invitatins to a few developers, but it wlll be a local thing. Thank you for all the support. Btw. I was not thinking about bringing LGM here in 2012 before, neither I mentioned it - it was just that on a particular weekend things seemed to conspirate to get a perfect window to get both sponsorship and a team with the same goals to have it happen here.
