[cross-project-issues-dev] Hudson unavailable?

2012-02-28 Thread Zeb Ford-Reitz
I'm currently unable to access https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/. I
just get a neverending Loading... message in my browser tab.
http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/hudson.eclipse.org reports that
the server itself is up, so either Hudson is hosed or it really is just
me. Are other people able to access Hudson?

Thanks for the quick response, Markus.. It was a problem on our end.
It's been fixed and I can now also login.

[cross-project-issues-dev] Build sessions at EclipseCon

2012-02-28 Thread Wayne Beaton

Hey folks. There are a lot of opportunities to get together and talk
about builds at EclipseCon.

There are a handful of talks [1]. I'm particularly excited about
"How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Build" [2]. In this
talk, Webmaster Denis and I are going to present the Common Build
Infrastructure (CBI) as part of the overall Application Lifecycle
Management (ALM) story at Eclipse.

There are a number of other equally (or, probably, more) interesting
talks about specific build technologies like Tycho [3] and Hudson
[4,5] which are an important part of our CBI work.

Andrew is hosting a session on the CBI and our ongoing Long Term
Support (LTS) initiative on Wednesday morning after the keynote in
Reston Suites A from 10:15 am to 12 pm. Consider attending this
session if you are interested in the technical aspects of CBI and
LTS.

Note that we have a mailing list, cbi-dev [6], and a wiki page [7]
for discussing and documenting CBI-related issues.

Thanks,

Wayne

[cross-project-issues-dev] Hudson Jetty conversion

2012-02-28 Thread Webmaster(Matt Ward)

Hi Folks,

I know it's short notice but as it's quiet for Hudson this week I'm
going to move us off the Winstone servlet and onto Jetty. I've got
everything ready to go so at 4pm I'll shut Hudson down and then startup
the Jetty instance. I expect we'll be offline for about 10 minutes.

Nice. Good news is, for Hudson 3.0.0 we don't have to do this, because
we replaced Winstone with Jetty as a bundled server.

I'm interested to know, from Jetty folks, if there is a difference
between Jetty bundled server and Standlone server in terms of performance.

2012-02-28 Thread Jesse McConnell
not sure what is meant by 'bundled' vs 'standalone' really

maybe osgi vs normal distribution? or embedded vs normal distribution?

in those cases there shouldn't be any real default difference, osgi
has its natural bit of classloader muckity muck muck but in terms of
processing of a request from start to finish...not that I know of.

more info on what is meant by 'bundled' vs 'standalone' would help
clarify that though

cheers,
jesse

I keep getting the very same result here even though I already reduced

difference?

The disk calculations were being run on Thursday, and the report was
being send on Tuesday.

I thought that was quite funny.

So now the calculations start at 4pm Tuesday and the report is sent on
Wednesday morning. That means we'll get the exact same report tomorrow
-- let's just ignore it.

Janet,

I went through the CQs for equinox, but in doing so I questioned if you wanted
this done for the CQs you already have approved and in the FIXED
state. I went ahead and did that for the CQs even if they were in the FIXED
state.

Juno Participating Projects,

While we have seen a flurry of CQs submitted in recent weeks, very few of them
have been identified as needed for Juno. In fact, we have only 21 CQs
identified currently as needed for Juno (6 reviews complete). While this
would be great news if true, I just don’t buy it.

I have added a canned search called “Needed for Juno” in IPZilla [see “Saved
Searched” in your IPZilla footer].

Please review the CQs listed in the “Needed for Juno” search. If you don’t see
a CQ you need for Juno listed there, please let us know on the relevant
bug(s) ASAP. This list will be the basis for our priorities in the coming
months. Once we have completed this list, we revert to prioritization
independent of release train participation.

Thanks,
Janet
