I think they're coming back as they are restored, so you might not have
permission until the directory is fully back?

I believe we just need to wait for his all clear before trying things.

Denis,

when trying to run my promotion script (in order to prepare the GEF 3.8.2
release), I run into the problem that file permissions do not seem to be
properly restored on /shared, i.e. I am for instance not allowed to
access /shared/jobs/gef-maintenance.

Unfortunately, it is absolutely huge, so it is taking a while

224GB done out of 894GB, restoring at about 40 MB/sec.

We're about an hour away from having service restored.

/shared is being completely regenerated from scratch, then we'll re-copy 
its contents from backup.


FWIW, the failed hard drive in /shared is an almost 9-year-old IBM piece 
that has been taking a beating 24/7.  Quality iron right there, folks.
