2013-06-05 Thread Ed Willink

Hi Wayne

I don't think MDT/OCL should be on the list, so I
reviewed the Bug 406441 dependencies. It appears that the only projects
that satisfy you are ones where you have added the PMC approval
yourself.

All other projects have a problem at the PMC stage. So it
seems that either you or the PMC are failing to complete the approval by
updating Bugzillas in response to the approval grant on the PMC mailing
list.

[cross-project-issues-dev] Kepler projects that are missing something that's required for the review

2013-06-05 Thread Wayne Beaton

Greetings folks.

I've built a little Bugzilla query that lists the projects that are
missing something that I require for the review.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?v4=Approved%20IP%20Log&bug_status=NEW&o5=substring&n2=1&f1=blocked&o3=substring&v3=Documentation&o1=equals&f4=attachments.description&v5=pmc_approved&query_format=advanced&f3=keywords&o4=equals&f2=OP&f5=flagtypes.name&v1=406441&list_id=5794737

If your project is on this list, you're missing one of three things:

* Review documentation;
* PMC approval of review documentation; or
* An IP Team-approved IP Log.

The corresponding records for projects that are doing service
releases should already be marked as FIXED and so should not be on
this list.

If you believe that your project should not be on this list, let me
know. We juggle a lot of balls with these releases and it's easy to
miss something.

If you're not on this list, you should be included in the "upcoming
reviews" section of the Projects Gateway page:

http://eclipse.org/projects/

Let me know if you're missing.

If I'm waiting on you to submit your IP Log, or provide me with
PMC-approved review documentation, please provide it ASAP. This was
due today. The review starts tomorrow; if I don't have your
materials in my inbox tomorrow AM, then you miss the review. If
you've submitted your review documentation and your IP Log, but the
IP Log hasn't come back, I'll schedule you for the review anyway
(the review cannot be declared successful until after the IP Log is
approved).

I do not intend to hold a call for this review. If anybody feels
strongly in favour of holding a call, let me know.

If you're having trouble meeting any of the requirements, please let
me know.

My thanks go out to the projects that paid attention and heeded the
deadlines.

Not that this particularly matters...

You should not host any third-party code at eclipse.org, but you
should plan on contributing the third-party library to Orbit. This
is a simultaneous release requirement.

http://wiki.eclipse.org/SimRel/Simultaneous_Release_Requirements#Re-use_and_share_common_third_party_code_.28partially_tested.29

Do you really need to recompile it. Isn't it enough to just add the
about.html to the file archive?

FWIW, AFAIK Orbit doesn't recompile anything.

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Kepler/Final_Daze

Thanks, David. It's funny how that document has become so much bigger
over the years. Compare to:

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Callisto_Final_Daze

From an Infra point-of-view, here are the cliff-notes:

1. Clean up old builds on downloads and archives
-> This ensures our mirrors don't run out of space when we upload
another 20 GB of release files.

2. Send us a link to your Infocenter docs, for help.eclipse.org (bug 408828)
-> We like for help.eclipse.org to be Kepler-ready the day it's launched.

3. Put your final bits in their final resting places early -- 6/25
10:00am or before -- but don't advertise them.
-> This allows for mirrors to pick them up early, preventing all our
bandwidth from being sucked up by mirrors.
-> Renaming files is the equivalent to "delete old and re-download" from
a mirror's perspective. Please don't.

4. Watch this list. At 9:00am EDT on June 26 we'll post here that all
systems GO and you are free to post links to your new release.

5. Blog, Tweet, Celebrate!

If you need assistance with any of this, please ping us directly at

Third party libraries still need an about.html file, and--in the

If your console log is very large, rendering it can actually slow the
master down considerably.

Also, there are currently 12 threads trying to fetch:
GET
/hudson/me/my-views/view/Graphiti/job/gmp-graphiti-nightly/ws/last_success/site.packed/*zip*/site.packed.zip

That is not good :(

I'll restart the Hudson master.
