Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Simultaneous Release 2019-06 opt-in

2019-05-08 Thread Patrick Bänziger
Hi Wayne

The participant list correctly shows Scout as a participant, but with an
incorrect version.
In SimRel 2019-06, Scout will deliver a bugfix release from the 9.0.0 branch
[1] again.

The 10.0.0 version will be part of a later SimRel (probably 2019-12 – I had
added a tentative date to reflect that).

Could you adjust the list please?

Thanks,
Patrick

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] Simultaneous Release 2019-06 opt-in

Greetings Simultaneous Release 2019-06 participants.

Per our process, I have started to assemble the participants list for
2019-06.

By way of reminder, the process
requires
that project teams signal their participation by making a change to their
aggrcon file in the simrel repository. For project teams that intend to drop
out of the simultaneous release, the process requires that you inform the group
and then remove your aggrcon file.

For projects that did participate in the previous simultaneous release, the
project team's representative must touch the project's aggrcon file by the
milestone 2 (M2) date of the release to indicate that the project wishes to
continue participating and that they project team is paying attention.

AFAICT, 49 project teams have changed their aggrcon file since the start of
this release cycle. I have captured my best guess at the version that each
project is participating with. Please have a look and let me know what I've
gotten wrong.

Note that if you are adding a new version of your content (major, minor, or
service), you need to create a release record. Make sure that your release
record has "2019-06-19" as the release date (I did notice that least one
existing release record showed 2019-06-20 as the release date; please have a
look and fix your record if this is you).

Please create the release record (or ensure that it has been created) before
you tell me that I've listed the wrong version.

Version names must include some form of a semantic version. You can prefix or
suffix version names as you'd like. The convention appears to be to not prefix
or suffix, or to include the simultaneous release name as a suffix.

Note that the PMI doesn't handle numbers appearing before the semantic version
very well, but I have a fix in the queue that should sort this out in time for
the release.

I intend to do a pass over the simrel repository again on Friday, May 10 (M2)
to bring the participation list up to date and will start the public shaming of
those who have not followed the rules sometime thereafter.

Per the December 2018 update to the EDP, project teams are not required to
engage in a release review if they've engaged in one in the year leading up to
their release date. No review is required. No PMC approval is required. No IP
log review is required. Remember that whether or not you engage in a review,
project teams are required to follow the Eclipse IP Due Diligence Process. Your
releases must only include IP that has been either "license certified" or
"approved" by the IP Team. I will initiate a scan of the repository tonight to
ensure that unvetted IP has not been inadvertently added.

Thanks for your attention.

Wayne

Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] SimRel 2018-09 Milestone 3 (M3) is available

2018-09-03 Thread Patrick Bänziger
A tentative +1 for Scout.
Our core functionality works, but we noticed two things during our tests that
might affect other packages:

1)
We've noticed that the EPP packages are currently shipped with this update
site:
"The Eclipse Project Updates" ->
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.9

This update site doesn't exist (yet?), which then results in an error when the
user clicks "Check for updates".
We've tested and seen this issue in the Java package and ours - probably all
are affected.

Also, as long as the update site is enabled and missing, the Oomph / Eclipse
installer seems to fail during its operations.
We've tested this with our Scout package and our Oomph task to import the
"Scout demo app", as well as the "Papyrus -> Developer -> Releng Tools".

-> Shouldn't this update site be available now?

2) The launcher still spells out "Photon, June 2018" and has the photon image.

->Shouldn't this be 2018-09 and (possibly) a new image?

Regards,
Patrick

[cross-project-issues-dev] Updated version of SimRel Requirements / Deadlines for 2018.09 release train?

2018-07-10 Thread Patrick Bänziger
Hi all

I've seen the first declarations of projects participating in the 2018.09
release.
This prompted me to check for the new deadlines in the wiki, but:

· The SimRel Requirements wiki page [1] seems to still adhere to the
timeline for the "old" SimRel with 7 Milestones and 4 RCs.

· The Category wiki page for the new release [2] does not have
deadlines for the CQ, IPLog etc. yet ("TBD").

Does anyone have these dates / updated version for the wiki page?

Best regards,
Patrick

Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Migration from Hudson to Jenkins is complete

Thanks Frederic (and everyone who worked on this)!

Wow, that is an amazing amount of Jenkins instances.
Maybe you could share some of your and the Foundations experience setting up
and operating such an enormous fleet of Jenkins?
I'm sure not only I and my colleagues, but also many others could profit of
your knowledge on how to run (setup, upgrade, monitoring, orchestration, ...)
so many Jenkins instances.
This would make a great blog post or series of posts!

Hi,

As of March 1st, 2018, all 180 Hudson instances (HIPPs) have been
migrated to a recent LTS version of Jenkins. There were a few minor (and
expected) hiccups, but in general it went pretty smoothly.

If you still find an issue that might be related to the migration,
please file a Bugzilla issue.

We are currently in the process of bringing the build infrastructure to
the next level, to better utilize the available hardware and reduce
maintenance efforts. Expect to hear more details about this in the near
future.

Thanks for your patience.

In our case, it seems to be missing javax.wsdl 1.6.2 which is present in the

Neon.

Could it be you don't mirror javax.wsdl in your p2 repo and rely on wtp to
bring it in the repo and with wtp being disabled due to jetty, scout fails
aggregation?

We’re a bit lost at this point and would appreciate any input.

[cross-project-issues-dev] Is M2E participating in Oxygen?

Our contribution for Eclipse Scout (at +3), depends on M2E which was +2 in Neon.

I checked and saw that M2E has updated their version number, but has not
enabled their contribution in the b3aggrcon File.
There was no message yet to the cross-projects-issues list to announce Oxygen
participation, and there is no release record for the new version (1.8.0)
AFAICS.

Does anyone know whether M2E will participate in Oxygen?
