Already on the table: "Make VS2010 default sometime in 2016",
http://github.com/weidai11/cryptopp/issues/89.

Should we spin up a mailing list thread on Archiving VS2005; and using
VS2010 by default?

Could the VS2010 solution be made the default in one of the next releases? I
really hope that most people are using VS2010+ nowadays.

(And does anyone know how to get an English header for quotes in Google Groups?
Now I got an English web interface, but the header for quotes is still in
German...)

Archive VC++ 6.0 workspace and project files?

2016-09-08 Thread Jeffrey Walton
Hi Everyone,

We still carry around cryptdll.dsp cryptest.dsp cryptest.dsw cryptlib.dsp
dlltest.dsp from the VC++ 5.0/6.0 days. I actually use them for testing on
Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Outside of the test cases, I don't believe
anyone uses them anymore.

I'd like to move "cryptdll.dsp cryptest.dsp cryptest.dsw cryptlib.dsp
dlltest.dsp" into vc60.zip and provide vc60.zip as part of the distribution.

Is anyone else using Crypto++ in a VC++ 5.0 or 6.0 project? Does anyone
have thoughts or objections to the archive?
