[css-d] Rounded corners with fixed height problem
I've got a bit of a challenge with rounded corners - have a fixed height (it's all going into an iframe) and cannot seem to get the borders out to the edge and the rounded corners placed - an additional problem is that the comp calls for only half of a top border and a small dotted border above that - I'm just not sure that can be done? The graphics for the rounded corners aren't very good - they are just place holders. The problem is in the right hand column that starts with "Benefits". The method I used: http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/css/css-round-corners-borders.shtml My code: http://www.language-works.com/SmartSign/template.htm The comp: http://www.language-works.com/SmartSign/homepage.jpg I'd greatly appreciate any insights as I've been hitting my head against the wall for some time now. I assume you mean CSS, not CCS? I'm not aware of any mechanism to create links (of the sort) in CSS. How exactly do you want to link certain words to specific pages? Any appearances of "dog", "cat" and "mouse" always become links to "/animals.html"? I need to have certain words be linked to specific pages wherever they appear throughout our site. I would greatly appreciate assistance on how to write the CCS for this function. Alright, I have gotten my links to work but if you take a look you'll see that my big banner\logo graphic gets cut off and I'd really like to know to bring it forward ? Re: [css-d] IE7 fieldset bug (border repeats on radio/checkbox input elements inside)
Think I solved why its happening. The labels inside the fieldset had a {margin-left:20px; text-indent: -20px;} (forget y had it rule hehe). The negative text-indent for some reason caused an IE7-bug to show itself if a border was set on containing fieldset element. Its still unusual, wonder what causes it. [css-d] Modifying a 3 column layout.
I'm trying to modify a layout and am having a bit of trouble with it - I'm still pretty new to CSS. I hope someone can help me. I'm using the Holy Grail Layout, No Quirks Mode layout from Mathew James Taylor (http://matthewjamestaylor.com/blog/holy-grail-liquid-layout-no-quirks-m ode). I like this layout - it's clean, fairly simple, standards-compliant, an works in older/different browsers. In this layout, the center column is liquid and the two side columns are equal width (170px). I'm trying to modify it so that the two columns are different widths (left column at 150px and right column at 185px). I'd also like to reduce the "margin" between columns a bit - right now it's 15 pixels on each side - i.e. 30 pixels between left and center columns and 30 pixels between center and right columns. I'd prefer maybe a 20 pixel space instead. I'm having trouble deciphering the layout enough to know where to make the changes. I've come close a few times, but not quite (and I'm afraid that what I did will break down in older browsers). Can anyone give me some assistance in figuring this out - or let me know that there isn't any way to do this with this particular layout? My (current) mock-up version of the layout is at http://www.lfpl.org/grail2.htm . Much thanks and appreciation - Michelle Michelle C. [css-d] IE7 fieldset bug (border repeats on radio/checkbox input elements inside)
I set a css border (through jquery) on a fieldset. it looks fine in IE6 and FF. but in IE7, i see that the green top border of the fieldset seems to repeat on form elements inside the fieldset that are radio/checkboxes. Very weird. A pic is attached: http://arianhojat.com/temp/fieldset-bug.jpg Anyone ever seen this? I can simplify the code the Content Management System is outputting and post some code soon if its not an easy fix.
