[css-d] Weird IE6 problem with extra space and cursor movement

2007-01-15 Thread Carol F. Swinehart
http://www.masterchurchbldr.com/test/portfolio/index4.html

If you go to this page in IE6 you will see extra blue space under the
cloud bar. If you put your cursor over the links, it closes up like it
is suppose to.

What is going on here. Works in FF.

Thanks,

[css-d] IE6 browser error is there a fix?

2007-01-12 Thread Carol F. Swinehart
http://www.ckfswebservices.com/mcbtest/

Looked at my test site in all the flash browsers at browser cam

Only problem is AOL 9.0 and explorer 6 in windows 2000
and explorer 6 on windows XP where the picture in the right hand column
drops to the bottom of the column. Other browsers work.

Client wants the picture at the top and of course he has IE6.

I do not understand what part of the buggy IE6 browser is causing the
picture in the right column to drop down.

FYI This site is designed for 1024 as per the client's specs.

Any help here greatly appreciated. My understanding is IE6 hacks break
the newer browser is that right??? But even if I wanted to I don't know
the IE6 hack to fix this.

Thanks,

Carol F. Swinehart

[css-d] CSS check

2005-12-09 Thread Carol F. Swinehart
I have 2000 operating systems with mozilla and on a 800X600 screen both of your
sites scroll to the right.

Carol F. Swinehart

Hello all, I have a site due Friday night and I'm just about done with
all the CSS. Please visit:

http://temp.rdpdesign.com/final/

There's the main site, and a link at the bottom to switch to a
simple style, and then there's also the sub site, which is at:

http://temp.rdpdesign.com/final/ivy/

which also has an alternate stylesheet.

I ran into a lot of bugs while working on the site and I was able to
fix or workaround them for FF, IE, and Opera, all on Windows, but I
have no idea what it looks like in Mac or Linux, as well as older
browsers.

Thanks in advance!

[css-d] first-encounter-design.com

2005-11-06 Thread Carol F. Swinehart
I'm developing a site which can be found at
http://www.first-encounter-design.com
http://www.first-encounter-design.com/ Haven't done any real testing yet
but it displays well in IE6, NS7, Op and FF all on win xp.

Always a few bugs no matter what you do. In Windows 2000 the buttons other
than the home button that looks fine are outside of the topbar so the black
line stops and goes. They are bigger than the white home button. Perhaps you
wanted this effect, but just in case you did not that is the case. Viewing on
800X600 screen if that makes the differenc.

[css-d] css problem with margin between header and content - take a look please

2005-10-30 Thread Carol F. Swinehart
http://www.controlledairsystems.com/test2/indexb.php

I have done this site in several iterations but none really works the
way I want. Right now I am very close but there is this big chasm
between the lower brown bar and the navagation and content section.
Might as well be a glacial chasm. I have tried everything to close the
gap but just can't seem to find a way. I would settle the navagation to
the bottom brown bar and the beige bar white. I could them put more text
on top of the header picture and all would work.
I tried a background in the header instead of two pictures (still have
one and that helped but now I can't seem to move the navigation up
without weird things happening. As you can see in IE there is an extra
line. This color is coming from the header background - how do I get
rid of this Changing the header background causes other issues.

How do I get the navagation to move up to the lower brown line without
breaking up.

To those who gave suggestions to my last iteration. Thank you very much.
Things did not work out - other things separated.

[css-d] Please help ie box hack question

2005-10-12 Thread Carol F. Swinehart

http://www.ckfswebservices.com/CAS/style2.css
http://www.ckfswebservices.com/CAS/index2.php

You will see the style sheet and page address above.

Yes, I know there is no content those errors are for space holds but the
other problem has to be worked out first.

The css code and html do parse.

I just started doing css sites and the box hack is messing me up.

I have a book that explains the math but one of the problems is I am not
sure how to apply the addressing this particular case.

I have the content set to #content

nav set to #nav

content is a % of a fixed space

Examples I find on the web use this type of coding

.boxmodel {
width:  whateverpx;
height: whateverpx;
padding:
border:
margin:
etc.}

Then the hack is applies as

* html .boxmodel {
width : whateverpx;
height: whateverpx;
}

I have #content
is it applied as *html #content ??

Can it be applied to a id and not a class???

Can it be applied to % - I know what % works in IE so can I use the %
there or do I have to calculate the actual px???

My biggest problem is with applying the *html .whatever somewhere in my
stylesheet to correct this problem
