So this is not doable with CSS, one must use tables?

Not really, those posts expire after 24 hours. However, one can view anyone,
by clicking on them:

http://rafb.net/paste/results.html

Notice how the line-column listing is separated from the code listing when
selecting the latter. I find this very practical, but its a table solution.
Hence, my question:

So this is not doable with CSS, one must use tables?

Hello Jim,

  Hi everyone,

  Look at the attached XHTML.

Because of list policy [1], attachments are stripped from incoming mail.

Thanks for bringing me up to speed on that. My apologies for not having
investigated this in before hand.

You'll need to copy and paste your code into the body of an email or better
yet, provide a link to the problem code.

[css-d] Columns selectable in isolation

2006-06-18 Thread Frans Englich

Hi everyone,

Look at the attached XHTML.

Apart from being simply a code listing combined with line listing at the side,
it has the interesting property that when one selects the code, the column
containing the line numbers is not selected.

Anyone has an idea for how to solve this with a CSS-only solution?

Cheers,

Frans
