I found a website with an easy version of the IS png fix http://bjorkoy.com/past/2007/4/8/the_easiest_way_to_png/ - an easy interpretation
That site sent me to the originators site... http://www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/ ..and I used one of the versions he suggested (below).
