New on CTAN: snotez

2013-04-09 Thread CTAN Announcements
Clemens Niederberger submitted the

  snotez

package.

Summary description: sidenote support for LaTeX 2e
License type: lppl

Announcement text:
--

This has just been an exercise on a lazy afternoon. Well, more or less at
least.
Since there already is Andy Thomas' `sidenotes' package
(mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/sidenotes) there is probably no real need
for `snotez'. Moreover, the tufte classes
(mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/tufte-latex) as well as the memoir class
(mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/memoir) also provide corresponding
mechansims. Besides the fun I had my motivation was also based on the fact that
I didn't like some smaller things (_not_ bugs) done by the `sidenotes' package
such as inserting kerns and superscripted commas for multiple marks. I prefer
to
let my `fnpct' package handle these things. Anyways, here it is and it seems to
be working as intended so I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be available to
others for use.

CTAN update: pfarrei

2013-04-09 Thread CTAN Announcements
the daemon mumbles:

 Name of contribution: pfarrei
 Author's name: Markus Kohm
 Author's email: komascr...@gmx.info
 Package version: r33
 Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/pfarrei/
 Summary description: LaTeX support of a pastor’s and priest's work
 License type: lppl

 Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
 --
 In Die TeXnische Komödie 1/2013 Christian Justen told about his
 practice using LaTeX at his work as pastor. One point was to arrange
 A5 papers onto A4 landscape paper either side-by-side or as a
 booklet. He made two bash scripts for this. `pfarrei' provides one
 texlua script for the same.

 Other points at the article are, e.g,, special limitations of the page
 break. `pfarrei' provides LaTeX commands and environments for that
 too.

 TeX distributors please note, that a5toa4.tlu (generated from
 pfarrei.dtx) is an executable! You should make it available as a5toa4
 executable in the binary directory of your TeX distribution
 additionally to the original copy in the scripts directory. See README
 for more information.

thanks for the upload; i've installed the new version, and updated the
catalogue repository.

 These are the files:

   pfarrei.dtx
- installation script, source, and manual source;

   pfarrei.pdf
- user manual (in German);

   README
   - short information about the bundle and the installation;

   pfarrei.tds.zip
   - tds conform installation archive (without the binary).

 Users may view the package catalogue entry at
