Nonavailability of services next Tuesday (2018-01-16)

Hi,

 Deutsch kommt unten.

>From 2018-01-16 21:00 CET (that's next Tuesday evening in Europe) to
2018-01-17 09:00 CET (that's Wednesday morning in Europe) DANTE's
server comedy will be rebooted several times.

This will lead to interruption and maybe non-availability of several
services (Web-Sites for CTAN/LaTeX/DANTE, CTAN, mailing lists, etc.)
in that time span.

It's extremely unlikely that the services won't come up automatically
afterwards. Nevertheless, if that'll be the case, it might be noon
until I'll find the time to care for it.


And now the same in German:


Zwischen dem 16.01. 21:00 Uhr (d.i. nächster Dienstag abend) und dem
17.01. 09:00 Uhr (d.i. nächster Mittwoch vormittag) wird der
DANTE-Server mehrfach gebootet. Deshalb werden die Services
(Web-Server, CTAN, Mailing-Listen, Email, etc.) in dieser Zeit immer
wieder mal nicht verfügbar sein.

Sollte beim Hochfahren was schief gehen, kann es auch bis Mittwoch
mittag dauern, bis alle Services wieder laufen. Das ist aber extrem
unwahrscheinlich.

The package bnumexpr allows _expandable_ computations with big integers,
the four infix operators +, -, *, / (which does rounded division), the
power operators ^ or **, the factorial !, the truncated division //, and
its associated modulo /:.

outputs -4006240736596543944035189.

By default the underlying arithmetic macros are the ones provided by
package xintcore [1] (its release 1.2 is required).

bnumexpr has only one option _custom_ which says to not load xintcore,
and a command \bnumexprsetup to inform the package which macros to use
if not those from xintcore.

This is a breaking release: some options and commands from v1.1 are not
defined anymore (as \bnumexprsetup provides a new interface), and
documents which used them will need updating.

I am pleased to announce the release of the v1.8b update to IEEEtran.cls
(the class file for IEEE journal and conference authors). Version 1.8b
features a new comsoc mode for IEEE Communications Society publications.

The IEEEeqnarray column specifications are now tolerant of active  
(or other punctuation catcode changes) as with babel under the german or
ngerman language modes. 


The IEEEtrantools.sty package has also been updated (v1.5) to reflect
the changes in the IEEEtran.cls v1.8b code base.


Finally, the IEEEtran BibTeX (.bst) packages have been updated to v1.14.
There is a new CTLuse_url field to the IEEEtranBSTCTL control entry type
to allow user control of the display of URLs. The journal name string
definitions file has been brought up to date and into 2016.

PDBF - A Toolkit for Creating Janiform Data Documents

PDBF documents are a hybrid format. They are a valid PDF and a valid
HTML page at the same time. You can now optionally add an VirtualBox
OVA file with a complete operating system to the PDBF document. Yes,
this means that the resulting file is a valid PDF, HTML, and OVA file
at the same time. If you change the file extension to PDF and open it
with an PDF viewer, you can see the static part of the document. If you
change the file extension to HTML and open it with a Browser (currently
Chrome/Firefox/Safari/IE 10 supported), you can see the dynamic part of
the document. And if an ova file is attached you can also change the
file extension to OVA and install and run the attached operating
system. The difference between the PDF and the HTML version is that the
PDF version contains static version of all PDBF elements, whereas the
HTML version is dynamic. For example you can zoom into graphs,
temporarly remove dataseries from the graph, inspect and change the
underling query of the PDBF element and see the result of the change
directly in the browser. This approach works completely offline. No
internet connection is required, neither at compile time, nor at
viewing time.

Version 4.3.0:
- Updated the font and icons to the 4.3.0 version of the opentype font
- Added a type1 conversion and character mappings, so fontawesome now
also works under pdfLaTeX!

Please note this update will probably break code relying on the
previous release, as many icon names have changed (upstream). I decided
to reflect the upstream name changes as some name changes were
absolutely required to introduce new icon variants with consistent
naming. Sorry for the debugging this will cause to some. I also
automated to process, so expect speedier updates in the future :)

ctanify is intended for developers of LaTeX packages who want to

structure.  The tarball additionally contains a ZIP (.zip) file with

 Usually, this means keeping record of certain medical values

 package supports all of this plus more - simply by adding
 more columns to the data file!
