Teamsters Applaud ANWR Development

(Washington, D.C.) The Teamsters Union commends the Senate Energy and
Natural Resources Committee for taking an important step toward increased
energy independence today. By passing a measure that instructs the
Secretary of the Interior to move forward with developing the Coastal
Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), the committee also
endorsed a key part of the Teamsters' jobs agenda.

ANWR development will quickly create thousands of jobs with strong wages
and benefits, said Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa. The
impact of job growth will go well beyond Alaska and contribute to many
states' economies.

The Teamsters, along with more than a dozen other unions, have supported
the opening of ANWR for many years. In addition to the immediate jobs that
it will create, developing ANWR will advance important technologies for
oil and gas exploration, development, production, and transportation well
into the future.

For decades skilled American labor union labor has successfully
performed the many tasks involved in developing energy on Alaska's North
Slope, Hoffa said. Along with our brothers and sisters in more than a
dozen other unions, the Teamsters stand ready to fill the jobs that ANWR
will create and get to work developing more American energy for American
consumers.

The Teamsters commend Chairman Pete Domenici (R-NM) for skillfully
shepherding this proposal through his committee, as well as Alaska
Senators Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski for their years of perseverance
and commitment to creating jobs in the United States.

With oil remaining above $60 a barrel and no immediate relief in sight,
the continued financial burden affects all American industries, said
Hoffa. Working Americans especially the hundreds of thousands of
Teamsters who start their day by turning the key to a truck need the
energy, the relief and the jobs that opening ANWR will provide now.

Abiotic Oil
Appearing for the entire four-hour program, Jerome Corsi and Craig R. Smith,
the co-authors of Black Gold Stranglehold, shared the contention that oil is
continually created deep inside the planet, and doesn't stem from dinosaurs or
decayed matter (i.e. fossil fuel). Accordingly, there is an abundance of this
material and the so-called scarcity is a marketing ploy to charge higher
prices, they said.

The Russians developed the abiotic (non-biological) theory of oil back in the
1950's and the idea in recent years was put forth by Dr. Thomas Gold, a
professor at Cornell University. Corsi and Smith also argued that global
warming is unrelated to the burning of hydrocarbon fuels, citing that carbon
dioxide is less than 1% of the atmosphere. We haven't had a new oil refinery
built in the U.S. in the last 30 years, said Smith who blamed environmentalists
for discouraging these efforts.

The U.S. could lower its reliance on foreign oil by drilling offshore and in
Alaska, and Corsi and Smith suggested that there is no shortage of supply, if
we dig deep enough. They also were in favor of the increased usage of nuclear
power, using the latest technology to increase safety. The second half of the
show featured callers with questions for the guests.

Irish report: Bishops, police did little to stop sex abuse 10/26/05 "Dublin, Ireland (AP) - Former bishops, police and state agencies did far too little to prevent the alleged sexual abuse of more than 100 children by Roman Catholic priests in southeast Ireland over a 36-year period, a report published yesterday charged. The 2½-year investigation, led by retired Irish Supreme Court Judge Frank Murphy, found that two former bishops of the Ferns diocese, Brendan Comiskey and Donal Herlihy, protected - and even helped to promote - abusers within the clergy." http://www.columbiatribune.com/2005/Oct/20051026News017.asp

Pamela Vitale Murder: Satanic or Ritualistic Crime and Murder? by Jim Kouri 10/22/05 "The news coverage of the extraordinarily brutal murder of Pamela Vitale, wife of well-known California criminal defense attorney Daniel Horowitz, seems to have renewed interest in ritualistic crime. The 16-year old suspect is reported to have been involved in some kind of self-styled Satanism including the reading the Anton LeVay's Satanic Bible and use of occult symbols at the crime scene. In spite of mankind's advances in the arts and sciences, there remains a large number of people who have not been able to -- or refuse to -- shake-off the practices of pagan rituals, some of which date back thousands of years. Included within the broad spectrum of paganism are so-called Satanic cults which are suspect in a number of bizarre crimes throughout the United States. According to investigative journalist and author Maury Terry, there exists today a network of Satan-worshiping cults with members crisscrossing our nation." http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_27261276.shtml

Fugitive priest pleads guilty to sex abuse - He was deported from Samoa after being profiled by The News 10/27/05 by Reese Dunklin / The Dallas Morning News "A Catholic priest whose Australian superiors let him work overseas as a criminal fugitive pleaded guilty this week to 13 charges involving the sexual abuse of several teenage boys, the Australian Associated Press news service reported. The Rev. Frank Klep was profiled last year as part of The Dallas Morning News' examination of Catholic priests moving from country to country to elude sex-abuse allegations and remain in ministry with access to children." http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/world/stories/DN-priest_27int.ART.State.Edition2.c5894cd.html

New molestation law - With broader limitations, fewer pedophiles will escape prosecution. Long Beach Press Telegram "A Long Beach ex-priest and admitted pedophile, Michael Baker, is free today because Cardinal Roger Mahony protected him from the law. By the time Baker was ready to stand trial, the state's 10-year statute of limitations on such crimes had expired. Under the new California law, far fewer molestation victims will have to face such scenarios. The new law, which will go into effect Jan. 1, gives prosecutors until the victim's 28th birthday to file charges." http://www.presstelegram.com/portlet/article/html/fragments/print_article.jsp?article=3154277

'Black Gold Stranglehold' shoots up charts
Book explodes myths of oil shortages, sources

Black Gold Stranglehold: The Myth of Scarcity and the Politics of Oil, a new
book that challenges notions that oil is a fossil fuel and that the world is
running out of it, is skyrocketing up the best-sellers lists before its
official debut tomorrow.

The authors did an unprecedented four-hour interview with George Noory on
Coast to Coast AM, a national overnight radio program, last night. A tape of
the show can be heard via the Coast to Coast AM website.

It currently is listed at No. 10 among non-fiction best sellers at Amazon - and
rising - and is No. 56 overall. The book has risen to No. 3 in the economics
category and No. 5 in politics.

Black Gold Stranglehold also disputes alarmist predictions that oil prices
will be rising to $190 a barrel next year with gas prices going to $6 a gallon.

Last year, we predicted that we would see $3-per-gallon gasoline and we did,
said Craig Smith, chief executive officer of Swiss America Trading Corporation
and co-author along with Jerome Corsi. Light crude for November fell $2.21 to
$60.20 per barrel. To say that we will see $190 per barrel is a scare tactic
that ties in with the message that we are running out of oil, which we are not.

Smith specifically pointed to predictions by oil guru Matt Simmons.

Simply stated, we believe those who say we are running out of oil are wrong,
he said. We have plenty, maybe even an exhaustible amount available deep
within the earth. We are sitting on more proven petroleum reserves than ever
before, despite the increasing rate at which we are consuming petroleum
products. New and gigantic oilfields are being discovered at an increasing
rate, in places the fossil fuel theory would never have predicted possible. If
we are running out of oil, why are worldwide oil reserves today at historically
high levels? Since 1980, proven oil reserves have gone from 645 billion barrels
to 1.28 trillion barrels.

The problem, Smith says, is not oil scarcity, but rather, a refining crisis.

Today, the U.S. oil industry is sitting on a quantity of oil reserves that has
never been higher, says Smith. Still, we have built no new refineries, and
the refineries in operation are producing at or near capacity.

Black Gold Stranglehold, co-written with Jerome Corsi, debunks the myth that
the world is running out of oil through clear and compelling research based on
the abiotic theory of oil. The abiotic theory asserts that oil is not a product
of decaying dinosaurs and prehistoric forests. The scientific evidence cited in
Black Gold Stranglehold suggests that oil is constantly being produced by the
earth, far below the earth's surface, and that it is brought to attainable
depths by the centrifugal forces of the earth's rotation.
