Begin forwarded message:From: "Bill Gallagher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Date: July 21, 2006 9:09:13 AM PDTSubject: falwell lines up behind israel By Alison HooverTHE WASHINGTON TIMESJuly 20, 2006Leaders of the five-month-old movement Christians United For Israeland evangelicals expressed support for Israel yesterday at a pressconference in the Capitol, urging Congress to follow suit.   They explained their stance to a standing-room-only crowd of about75 people.   "It is not a popular position for the international media, formost of Europe, or for the world," said the Rev. Jerry Falwell. "Butit's the right thing to do."   John Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio andfounder and national chairman of Christians United for Israel (CUFI),said this is not a time for Christians to be silent because of "thegrowing, active aggression we're seeing toward Israel and its people,"along with the "growing threat toward any nation that supportsIsrael."   Mr. Hagee and others cited Bible verses to support their view, such as Genesis 12:3 -- "I will bless those who bless you, and I willcurse him who curses you; and in you shall all the families of theearth be blessed."   Mr. Hagee said CUFI's main goals are to bring Christians to theDistrict to speak to government representatives, hold a "Night toHonor Israel" in American cities, establish a contact network tocommunicate quickly with congressional representatives and educateChristians about "our biblical responsibility to support the Jewishpeople."   CUFI leaders acknowledged a hesitance by Jews to acceptevangelical Christians' support.   The group's executive director, David Brog, who is Jewish, encouraged other Jews to "take the time to get to know and work withthese Christians who are lining up to stand with us during thesedifficult days."   He added, "When we have friends approaching us, we should be verycareful before we reject them."   More than 3,000 CUFI members attended this week'sWashington/Israel Summit, which also included time for them to meettheir congressional representatives. Yesterday's press conferencefollowed a dinner at the Washington Hilton Tuesday, called "A Night toHonor Israel." It featured a speech by the Israeli ambassador to theU.S., Daniel Ayalon.   Some speakers at the press conference denounced actions taken bythe federal government concerning Israel in the past.   "I will rebuke the State Department for any and every time it toldIsrael to stand down and show restraint," Mr. Falwell said.   He personalized this action for audience members by asking, "Wouldwe show restraint if somebody came across our borders with rockets?" =

So here’s where I seem to be pissing you off so severely: the whole
eternal, evil Jew thing, which, you have to admit, is a staple of the
Rense & Icke Show, seems, I don’t know, too easy, too stupid, too
pat, too much like a vindication of fucking Hitler. I don’t like
Nazis. It also seems sort of contrived—how is it possible that
Netanyahu, or Silverstein for that matter, could be off-script on
televised interviews? Freudian slips happen when people are talking
to each other, not history. I have more to say on the topic of
Zionists letting themselves be used as patsies, but I want to hurry
up and get to my central point here before everyone falls asleep:
9/11 isn’t The Big Lie. Just as the pod and the Jews are diversions,
I’m convinced that 9/11 itself is a smaller lie than keeps us from
considering The Really Big Lie.

Very quickly then (sorry!), here it is: America is also a lie. Our
entire history is fake, more so than Howard Zinn ever dreamed. George
Washington was the richest man in America, as well as the author of
the original organized plan to steal the Indians’ land. Manifest
Destiny is the polite expression, not of American exceptionalism, but
of brutal, planet-fucking American imperialism, except that it’s not
really American at all. Transnational means just that; the
corporotacracy’s only allegiance is to itself. Now, maybe you’re
right about who’s behind the corporotacracy—the 13 families and all—
but it doesn’t matter in the end because it’s The Real Conspiracy, or
better yet, What’s Really Being Hidden that is where our focus should
be.

We’re constructing the dystopian nightmare that Orwell and Huxley
prophesied, but we could just as easily be building an equally
brilliant utopia, the cornerstone of which is free energy. Free,
locally-generated, decentralized autonomy-ensuring, unlimited,
ecologically-safe energy. We also are being denied antigravitational
technology which would revolutionize transport, architecture, space
flight and more. We have the capacity to fix our dying biosphere, but
instead we’re pouring more poison into it. And why? Because the power-
mad are greedy, and if they weren’t suppressing all this stuff, we’d
soon discover that the whole economy of scarcity that is the
foundation of their wealth and the world’s poverty is also a lie. We
could practice economies of abundance, right here and right now
without disturbing the environment or wasting our dwindling natural
resources. The problem is that we would all be rich and free, and
that is a picture that sickens and frightens those sick bastards as
much as it brightens our hopes and imaginations.

As you know, big lies work because no one believes that the ruling
classes could be so evil as to do such a thing—they’re still human,
right? Maybe. The Big Lie also works by diverting attention away from
itself with “smaller” horrors. Consider this: the best and brightest
minds on the planet don’t believe the official 9/11 story. To the
extent that they also believe that if those responsible were
effectively neutralized, removed, then the world could function
smoothly again, right? Who’s got time for utopian conspiracies when
they’re busy thinking about who made some buildings fall down as a
pretext for a worldwide police state? And if the whistle-blowers were
ungagged? And if some thugs came forward and confessed? If BushCo
were impeached? Would the money be taken out of politics? Would Ted
Stevens, next in the line of succession, make a better president?
Would the spineless whores masquerading as the opposition party ever
do anything counter to “American interests”? I find it most telling
that even after 60 years of fascist propaganda, including its
centerpiece, the discrediting of Socialism (the “failure of
Socialism,” and “how we won the Cold War”) and the complete
marginalization of the Left, the so-called political discourse in the
US has been moved so far to the right that Nixon’s policies can only
be viewed as “liberal” by today’s standards. And consider the phrases
in circulation again, this time in the “9/11 movement”. It’s not just
at Rense that you see “Jewish bolshevism” and “godless communism.”
The right wing has infiltrated everything because, to paraphrase the
famous phrase, the Germans lost the war, but the Nazis won the world.
This is why Jeff linked that Nazi Hydra thing http://
www.spiritone.com/~gdy52150/noon.html
Lastly, Anonymous, consider one more scenario: if your favorite
conspiracy, which is, not to be too boastful about it (really, I can
see you’ve got some serious ego investment here) ever so much smaller
than mine, were to be exposed and all the Illuminati devils impaled
on lampposts, would the fascist nightmare be over? Would ethics
return to capitalism? Of course not. Capitalis

[CTRL] Dominici and Kempthorn uphold ANWR

Dominici and Kempthorn Uphold ANWR

Senator Pete Dominici (R-NV) this week upheld the value and importance of
ANWR oil in his update and review of the National Energy Bill passed late
last year. The Senator who is the Chairman of the Senate Natural Resources
Committee commented in The Hill newspaper on the success of last years
Energy Bill and listed the 4 most important issues the nation needs to
tackle this year on energy. One of these four was the opening of the 10-02
Area of ANWR for oil and gas exploration.

Opening ANWR is the most meaningful thing Congress can do for domestic oil
production. I will continue to work hard in the coming months to ensure
the domestic security of this nation by taking up ANWR legislation as soon
as possible, Dominici stated.

Last year ANWR legislation was not included in the National Energy Bill
but rather brought onto the floor via the Defense Appropriations Bill
where it failed to gain the necessary 60 votes to overcome a Democrat led
filibuster. It was subsequently taken out of the bill.

This year ANWR legislation has already passed the House as a standalone
measure but faces an inevitable filibuster threat from Democrats in the
Senate. The Senate has also passed ANWR legislation as part of a bundled
budget resolution bill, but that bill is currently sitting stagnant in
joint conference committee. It is uncertain when either bill will make
their next steps.

In another address in Washington this week the U.S. Interior Secretary,
Dirk Kempthorne, beat the drum for ANWR. Secretary Kempthorne was speaking
to a Chamber of Commerce meeting on energy Wednesday and stated that
though global events may affect energy prices, the Bush administration's
policies are working. "We must tap into our greatest asset," Kempthorne
told business leaders, and that that included drilling for oil on 2,000
acres in ANWR.

The secretary said states that allow such drilling to happen should be
compensated.

[CTRL] Strengthening national energy policy

2006-07-21 Thread William A. Bacon
-Caveat Lector-

Strengthening our national energy policy is a must
By Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.)

Aug. 8, 2006, marks the one-year anniversary of the first comprehensive
energy bill in 12 years.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 was a far-reaching bill that touched upon
almost every aspect of our nations energy policy. We are seeing an impact
in the areas of coal, wind, solar, nuclear and ethanol energies as well as
conservation and efficiency across the energy spectrum.

Throughout the spring and summer, my committee has held a series of Monday
hearings to examine the implementation and impact of the energy bill in
all of those key areas. The hearings have been successful, and I look
forward to continuing these productive hearings through July.

I would like to see Congress build on the success of the energy bill in
several areas. I would like to see us address refinery capacity, spent
nuclear fuel, the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) and the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

The advancement of these four policies will help to ensure that the United
States has a reliable, affordable, diverse and secure energy supply. And a
secure and strong national energy policy will help to strengthen our
nations economy, national security and foreign policy.

Refinery capacity. Related to increasing supply is the need to increase
the ability to refine oil while diversifying the refining locations. Last
years hurricane season made it painfully clear that the lack of refining
capacity in this country must be addressed.

Almost 50 percent of the refining capacity in the United States is located
in the Gulf Coast area. The hurricanes caused a shutdown of 10 percent of
our refinery capacity. We did not have the spare space at the other
refineries to absorb that shock.

We need to find ways to increase capacity at existing refineries and
explore ways to build refineries in places other than the Gulf of Mexico.

Last Thursday my committee held a hearing on H.R. 5254, the Refinery
Permit Process Schedule Act. I look forward to hearing from the witnesses
and working to construct legislation that will meet the needs of Americas
energy infrastructure.

OCS. There are 633 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in our federal
waters more than enough to heat every American home for 15 years.
However, 85 percent of the Outer Continental Shelf acreage in the lower 48
states remains under moratorium. I am confident, as are the American
people, that additional oil and gas development on the OCS and the
protection of our nations coastlines are not mutually exclusive.

The energy bill diversified our supply, but we will still need far more
natural gas in the next two decades than we can produce. American jobs,
our nations economy and our consumers pocketbooks mandate a second look at
the OCS moratoriums.

I recently passed S. 2253 out of committee with a bipartisan vote of 16-5.
This bill directs leasing in parts of the area known as Lease Sale 181.
This bill will develop oil and gas at least 100 miles off the Florida
coast in a manner that upholds environmental protections and military
training areas. Additionally, enacting S. 2253 would provide access to an
area with a natural-gas supply of approximately 5 trillion cubic feet.

Opening Lease Sale 181 would be the single most important thing this
nation could do to reduce the price of natural gas in the near term. The
House of Representatives recently passed a comprehensive OCS bill. I
applaud them for making this important issue a priority. I continue to
work hard to get my Lease Sale 181 bill to the Senate floor this month,
and I look forward to a productive conference with the House.

Spent nuclear fuel. My Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee
colleagues and I recently approved the fiscal year 2007 appropriations
bill for the Department of Energy, which included language addressing a
short-term solution for the spent nuclear fuel gathering at reactor sites
around the nation. I will work with my colleagues to gain full Senate
passage of this bill when it is brought to the floor.

In April, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and I introduced the Bush
administrations proposed Yucca Mountain fix language, S. 2589, the Nuclear
Fuel Management and Disposal Act. This month I will continue to work with
my good friend Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) to hold a hearing on this
legislation.

ANWR: Over 10 years ago, President Clinton vetoed legislation that would
have opened ANWR to oil and gas leasing. If our nations leaders had chosen
to develop ANWR back then, it is estimated that today we would have the
benefit of as much as 1 million barrels of oil a day from that region.

Opening ANWR is the most meaningful thing Congress can for domestic oil
production. I will continue to work hard in the coming months to ensure
the domestic security of this nation by taking up ANWR legislation as soon
as possible.

Committee.
