-Caveat Lector- Well, I do Dale. I have had a problem in the past when this show was on in that I could not find it by scanning on my radio at night. Maybe others are middle-aged and not so adept at these things. I would like you to tell exactly how to locate him and the correct hours for Central Time Zone. Also, How does one listen to him via computer and the Internet? I only tried a few times but could not find this program. Which is better--radio or computer? It may be difficult for some of you young people to believe that this is a problem but it is for me being self-taught (trial error) on a computer. I am in the process of destroying my fourth computer now. :) There may well be others. I think this would be helpful as then we can listen and judge for ourselves. Thank you for any help in this regard. -Caveat Lector- Hi Amelia: I'm 40 (middle-aged and not at all computer adept) and I don't listen to Art Bell via the internet. For one thing, I won't tie up my phone line all night and I work days, so I can't sit up all night to listen anyway. I'm usually asleep by 9:00 pm (EST)!! and his braodcast doesn't start until 1:00 am here in Massachusetts. I bought something called a Select-antenna that drastically improves AM radio reception. I record the show everynight and listen to it the next day at work. And I listen to a Providence, RI station (about 40 miles away) that carries the first 4 hours of his show. (Or they did. I haven't listened to Coast to Coast since Art Bell retired so I have to find out if WPRO still carries it. A lot of stations have dropped it). While some of the topics and guests that Art covers are pure nonsense, his shows always make you think. And I've found if one is willing to at least entertain ridulous or off-the-wall ideas, one will have a much better understanding of the world and why things happen the way they do. Perhaps some great unseen force is controlling all that happens. If one doesn't have an open mind to explore the possiblility, one will never find out. Amelia, I hope you can find Art Bell when he comes back. I haven't been to his web site since he retired (because it doesn't have any interesting info anymore) but it used to have a complete list of all the stations that carry him. Perhaps that might help. He also deals with all kinds of things that would never make it on the air, and he deals with them fairly. CTRL is the LAST place I would expect to hear criticism of Art Bell. Doesn't change the fact that I consider his 'leaving radio for good' awhile back nothing but a ploy to be enticed back onto the airwaves on his own terms. And if he got those terms, all the more power to him. I just wonder what his replacement is thinking just about now, though... His replacements were not up to the task and were losing audience. I believe it. I listened to Siegel a couple of times, and considered him 'okay'...but he didn't seem to have the rapport with either guests or audience that Bell has...
