I agree...but a question HAS been raised as to whether the picture has been doctored
or not. Compare the photos of Elian taken
during the raid, and this picture -- his bangs in the earlier pictures are straight
across his forehead, while his bangs are not
trimmed in the later 'reunion' photo...
I had a gut feeling when I watched the motorcade entering Andrews AFB yesterday that
the whole thing was being staged for the media
(and by extension for us, the public), and that Elian wasn't really in the motorcade,
but had been taken somewhere else...perhaps it
wasn't even Juan Miguel seen carrying a child from the car into the building...the
camera angle from the overhead helicopter seemed
deliberately staged so as to give us an obscured view of the man and child, we never
got to see the faces of either...
It would have been very easy to have angled the helicopter so that the camera could
have been pointed at the side of the car that
the man and child exited from, and have shown the man's front as he approached and
entered the building, instead of only showing us
his back and side...
But it raises the question of: if this 'reunion' photo IS doctored, if perhaps the
scene we were shown of "Juan Miguel" carrying
"Elian" into the residence at Andrews was staged, and we only saw actors entering the
building...then where IS Elian?
Back in Cuba? Perhaps. But presumably the ruse will then be exposed on the day of
the asylum-request hearing, and what would be
gained?
Could Elian and his father and stepmother and stepbrother perhaps be housed elsewhere,
and the Andrews site is a ruse to draw the
expected protestors?
I still wonder what was done to Elian at the hospital he was brought to, and why the
presence of a surgeon, and not a pediatrician,
was required on Elian's flight to D.C.
