It might be important to remember than Sir Isaac was an astrologer and
sacred geometrist. He spent a lot of time, for example, working on the
hidden
meanings in Solomon's Temple. Furthermore, he was extremely well connected
with
the various secret societies of the day which actually still had the kind of
esoteric information that was worth reading and/or studying.

Given that position, and for any scientist who really delves deeply into
the
often esoteric and hidden aspects of science, it soon becomes obvious to any
open-minded investigator that science and religion cannot be separated.
This
does not suggest that religious hierarchies should have ANYTHING to say
about
science -- because they will use the science for control and power -- but
the
true basis of any valid religion will have science, and science will
inevitably
contain spiritual or religious meanings.

The "difficulty" is that science, by its very nature, must progress and
replace old and worn theories with constantly updated ones. While
religions, on
the other hand, seem intent upon never changing! But this is almost always
the
work of the religious hierarchy. Any true SPIRITUAL quest will, of course,
be
intent upon progress, evolvement, and continuing change.

It's really quite curious that beyond-state-of-the-art science
(specifically
some aspects of new physics) specify that:

   1) Rigidity and resistance to change implies a disconnection from the
universe

   2) Change is what connects the universe (a fundamentally spiritual
concept),

   3) The rate of change of change -- or better yet, the acceleration of
change
-- connects the universe even more so, and

   4) The most effective way for a consciousness to connect with the
universe,
i.e. allow accelerated change, is to let go of all outcomes, and love
unconditionally!

Thus modern science demands and requires the connectedness expounded by
spiritual traditions for millennia, and emphasizes the need for love.

Go figure.

Daniel
