millions of copies of the record, and still sings it in concert because of its

There is also a general resistance to any more gun laws in the whole west
(except California of course). I concur that the 'school shootings' were
highly publicized in order to promote ever more rigid gun laws. By
highly publicizing the first 1 or 2, the media actually CAUSED the rest.

Well remember Slim Whitman selling records? And that guy, well it was
said he was number 1 in England.and little old ladies liked him.

Andy Griffith for years during Clinton's terms, sold religious
records.and this woman that sings Amazing Grace and I am gettiong so
sick of that song the way it is abused and used by heathens..this
was meant for the Scottish Bagpipes, as in the one Star Trek movie -
that is what popularized this old song - Spock died and the bagpipes
played Amazing Grace speaking of Spock, have this information -
according to old Funk and Wagnall, people from Wales had greenish skin
years ago and to this day if you eat Welsh Rare Rabbit, it enhances your
psychic abilityso it was recorded

So you don't see Catholic Priests, etc., much on TV begging for money -
only Jimmy Swaggart, Tammy and Bobby Baker was it, and poor old Oral
Roberts but he did build a university, old ORU and has done a lot of
good - and then we have World Harvest Church -

So the big sell on religious music? To make fast buck...even Box
Car Willie got into the act.and note country western always
considers religious music important.

Now the Masons - when they play Nearer My God to Thee - it is time to
duck...

So music today is full of satanic symbolism and they sing of murdering
whitey...hey, we need some form of self defense and even in the
bible they say to sing the psalms..

Maybe this is why all during the night at the Josephiniium (in Columbus,
answers directly to the Pope) why they pray and sing during the night
attempting to ward off demons in the night and they pray for the safety
of those who hope to awaken to another day - some do not.

Strange nobody ever notices the garbage music they are feeding the kids
- programming them for what? Years ago there was a song "We're Not
Going to Take it Anymore" where a weirdo kid knocked his father out a
window = really cute stuff like that.

So some of these music makers are political propagandists..there is
music in the air all the time, and you hear it even if you do not listen
- t is engraved in your mind on an unsuspecting public.

So Take Me Home Country Roads -and that was when Jay Rockefeller was
trying to lure men back to reopen a few mines..

Always liked that Yes We Got No Bananas..this is what we sing in
American today .. money for Bill and Hill and billions to Israel,
but yes - we got, no bananas.

We gave them all away.

I was really disturbed to learn on last night's NBC-TV 11 o'clock
news that the father of one of the victims of the Columbine shooting
had spoken in Saratoga Springs, NY to an audience of 2,000
yesterday. In that speech he derided the separation between
church and state, insisting it had no constitutional basis, and
promoted Jesus and Christianity as the solution to situations such
as the violence at Columbine high. Saratoga is a relatively small
community and 2,000 is quite a turnout. I am wondering what the
reaction was to the proposed solutions to violence. (IT does seem
to me that the majority of Americans do already practice some
form of Christianity, so why isn't it working? And would enforced
Christianity work better? Considering that much of the most
sensational school violence has occurred in Bible Belt states, it
would seem not...but that is a ratiional deduction and this does not
seem rational to me.)

Moreover, I have also noticed in just the past month that the six
o'clock news is punctuated with advertisements for "Songs of

worship. I have no objection whatsoever to these ads in and of

-Caveat Lector-

On Fri, 12 Jan 2001 20:05:29 EST, William Shannon [EMAIL PROTECTED] posted
article [EMAIL PROTECTED], which said:

Transcripts made available today of attorney general-nominee John
Ashcroft's speech at Bob Jones University in 1999 demonstrates
the former Senator's contempt for the nation's religious
liberties, according to Americans United for Separation of Church
 and State.

In the speech, Ashcroft said that America has "no king but
 Jesus."

Isn't this becoming dangerous? How many times in history have people
invited themselves to be the interpretor and arbiter of God's laws and
principles, only to end up killing thousands or even hundreds of thousands,
thinking he's doing the work of God? Hitler believed he was doing the work
of God. Of course, how do we know he wasn't? After all, look at all the
disembodied spirits that would have been rising from the ashes of the
holocaust.

"Ashcroft obviously believes the United States is a Christian
nation," continued Lynn. "He is woefully misinformed. Our
Constitution guarantees unqualified religious liberties for each
of us, regardless of our beliefs. The fact that Ashcroft rejects
this basic principle should be startling to all Americans of good
 conscience.

Well, he just wanted to say something that he thinks will get him support
from all the Christians who would like hearing such a thing -- people who
want to see a man in a postion of political power make everybody behave and
act according to the Bible.

ASHCROFT SPEECH AT BOB JONES UNIVERSITY DEMONSTRATES CONTEMPT FOR
CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES

CHRISTIAN NATION SPEECH SHOULD DISQUALIFY NOMINEE, SAYS AMERICANS UNITED FOR
SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

Transcripts made available today of attorney general-nominee John Ashcroft's
speech at Bob Jones University in 1999 demonstrates the former Senator's
contempt for the nation's religious liberties, according to Americans United
for Separation of Church and State.

In the speech, Ashcroft said that America has "no king but Jesus."

"Clearly, John Ashcroft's speech shows that he has little or no appreciation
for the constitutional separation of church and state," said the Rev. Barry
W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. "For a nominee for U.S.
attorney general to state that we have 'no king but Jesus,' is completely
unacceptable. In the United States, it is the Constitution that serves as the
basis for laws and national life, not one faith tradition.

"This speech demonstrates the John Ashcroft is completely unqualified to
serve as attorney general," Lynn added. "The Senate must reject his
nomination.

"Ashcroft obviously believes the United States is a Christian nation,"
continued Lynn. "He is woefully misinformed. Our Constitution guarantees
unqualified religious liberties for each of us, regardless of our beliefs.
The fact that Ashcroft rejects this basic principle should be startling to
all Americans of good conscience.

"His comments serve as a grievous insult to religious minorities," Lynn
added. "It shows he does not have the temperament to serve as the chief law
enforcement officer of the United States."

Also troubling were Ashcroft's remarks praising Bob Jones University, a
school with a history of religious and racial bigotry. During his recent
campaign, Ashcroft suggested that he was unfamiliar with the institution that
awarded him an honorary degree. However, during his 1999 visit, he praises
the university, thanking God for its very existence, and then lauding the
school's commitment to the principles they share.

"This is rank dishonesty," Lynn concluded. "Senators looking for evidence
that undermines Ashcroft's claims of honesty and integrity need look no
further than this smoking gun."
