-Caveat Lector- from: a friend ----- During the Sydney Olympics, three Mexican drug kingpins from Ojinaga, Chihuahua, led by Francisco "Kiko" Rios, were arrested by Australian authorities due to a request by the FBI that they be detained and extradited to the United States. What followed shortly afterwards was the attempted assassination of Chihuahua governor Patricio Martinez by an ex-state policewoman who had served a stint in Ojinaga during the reign of Kiko there, and was undoubtedly involved in his operations just like any other state or federal cop would be. Now, it seems that Kiko and his boys escaped from a maximum security prison near Sydney - the first time that an escape has occurred there in the history of that prison - only hours before the New York bombing occurred! Is there a link? I think there is. I think that American intelligence has something to do with it, too. The details of Kiko's escape were eerily reminiscent of Chapo Guzman's, by the way. Mexican papers are saying that there are no arrest warrants for Kiko in Chihuahua, and they are suggesting that if there is a federal warrant, that it will not be served because Kiko will have an amparo in his favor, preventing his arrest. Why do I get the feeling that the US powers that be wants him back in Ojinaga, running the massive drug smuggling operation here? In Ojinaga, the most visible person associated with Rios was General Domiro Garcia, who had been Donaldo Colosio's bodyguard and widely believed to be complicit in his assassination. The Ojinaga Cartel, in spite of its relative lack of fame - as compared to the Juarez cartel or the Arrellano Felix, is actually one of the most important drug smuggling rings in the world. The amount of drugs that goes through here is probably staggering. It was said in one Mexican report that there are now three organizations involved in activities in Ojinaga - the traditionally dominant Juarez Cartel of Amado Carrillo, who was once a lieutenant of Pablo Acosta, the one time head of the Ojinaga "plaza"; the Arrellano Felix, due to the rise of the panistas - they being a panista mob, as opposed to organizations that thrived under the Salinas administration and as such are described as "priista" mobs; and the third is the Chiapas cartel. Why Chiapas? Because of the Army. Domiro commanded 600 men - at least. He is now gone and I am not sure who is in charge now, but the army brings drugs into Mexico by way of Chiapas and sends them out by way of Ojinaga. What I suspect is the involvement of the US Border Patrol in the functions of this last group. The Mexican Army drives across the Rio Grande with loads of drugs loaded up into humvees, and drops them off on the American side. Who picks them up? What was Coronel Guzman, Domiro's right hand man, doing having secret meetings with the head of Border Patrol operations in Marfa, Texas? If the Border Patrol were doing their job, they would have found the drugs and reported them, and attempted to catch the Mexicans. However, if they had another role, they certainly would not!
