-Caveat Lector- I downloaded the season pilot of the smoking gun . This was a spin-off of the x-files. The season opener or rather the pilot show was quite interesting. It dealt with a government cabal crashing a commercial jetliner into the World Trade Center. This was aired on Fox network on 03.04.2001. The premise is that the Government would create this attack....so they could blame a rouge nation dictator. There were also references about defense contractors making millions from this. Why has no one bothered to let it be known that this scenario had already happened on a fictional television show.
