SSSS do likewise?
"Scarabs" - AKA "dung beetles" - do fit in with the Illuminati's worship of
ancient Egypt and its pyramid schemes. "Scarabbean" does fit with the
observation by Common Cause that, "Tennessee is the Cayman Islands of the
campaign finance system, similar to the money-laundering paradise of the
Caribbean." And "Scarab" is incidentally the name of the offshore "racing"
boats preferred by "Pirates" (incidentally the name of Scarabbean's
underground newsletter) and narco-bootleggers in real-world and on Miami
Vice, and the owner of Scarab Boats was gunned down at his manufacturing
plant in Florida. At the very least it provides blackmail material to ensure
compliance when calling upon alumni for future favors for the rest of their
lives—or else. Is an invite to SSSS just patronizing SGA so they won't whine
about being bossed by UT's politically appointed administration? Or, could it
be... SATAN?!

NOTICE: Obviously, not every person in the SSSS is evil, criminal or insane,
just as in all other segments of society. Estimates of evil, insane criminals
in the SSSS range from 10% to 90% (depending upon the definitions), which is
the same figure for other secret societies and other professions. However,
when members of the SSSS do go bad, they probably do so with greater ambition
and destruction. Most secret societies have Codes of Silence, like the
Mafia's Omerta or the Blue Wall of Silence for police, with rituals of
execution for narcing on the naughty. Likewise, no implication is made as to
good/evil of any religion or lack thereof. Great evil has certainly been
performed in the name of every religion, at least once a "government" got
hold of it. Perhaps half of all Scarabs fail to remain actively involved, but
even then may be called upon "to perform" whenever required. This webmaster

mantra–here it is, the three-line Skull and Bones initiation-ritual theme
that has bound three Presidents (including the present one) to their secret

Beyond the obvious skull-and-crossbones insignia, of course, the most
persistent story is that initiates spend their senior year in the basement
crypt of the Bones Tomb taking turns lying in a coffin and, in two long,
intense, psycho-drama autobiographical sessions in said coffins, recount
their personal and sexual history to the other 14 chosen ones. The
death-centered imagery, the injunction to initiates that they must "die to
the barbarian world" and be reborn in the Elysian company of the elect of
"The Order," as they call it, is what makes Skull and Bones as radically
different from a college fraternity as the Gambino family is from the
"hunting and fishing club" that was their nominal headquarters. The devil
figure pulled them into a white tent in the courtyard where, we think, they
found their femurs and emerged with what looked like a thigh bone, although
it was impossible to tell whether it once belonged to a human or not. They
were forced face-to-face with a shocking tableau: a guy holding what seemed
like a butcher knife, wearing a kind of animal-skin "barbarian" look, stood
over what seemed to be a woman covered in 'fake' blood and not much else. The
neophyte then approached a skull a few feet away from the
knife-wielder-and-victim tableau. The neophyte knelt and kissed the skull, at
which point the guy with the knife knelt and cut the throat of the prone
figure."
