I can't speak for AOL but as for this list the reason that it does not allow
discussion of holocaust denial is very simple, we had a bad experience with a
bunch of disrupters who were trying to turn the list into an Aryan nations rag
and Jew hater list. They dominated the forum and in an effort, after much
careful consideration and many miles of rope were given to them, to take back
control they were ejected from the list and the disclaimer was added. Many
who were on board then will tell you the same thing. I am refuting your
allegation, as to this list but as I said I have nothing to say in defense of
AOL. Holocaust denial and nazi propagandizers are not permitted and posts of
that nature are disallowed on this list. Proselytizing is forbidden because
many posts that dealt with religious conspiracy had many people quoting the
Bible at length and telling people on this forum that their souls were going
to burn in hell and that they better shape up. Invariably when these people
were confronted with contradictory information regarding their beliefs they
just resorted to "God said" and declared themselves the winner and everyone
else doomed. THUS proselytizing (and not just in religious areas either) is
not permitted BECAUSE their is no way to get "true believers" to recant their
position and agree that they are wrong since these things involve personal
belief and faith, which are both unassailable to rational argument. Things
would degrade to personal attack and diatribes which have no place here.

You already do! If my previous statement re AOL "eliminating" dissidents
is true (a concept unknown to The American) then this list COULD NOT EXIST
without AOL approval. You must be an Orwellian flunky or AOL would not

AAHH! Interesting trap there. I see your point, but don't you see the
fallacy of your posting the question in this forum if your supposition is
correct? I answered in the best way that I could. If your hypothesis is
correct it has not changed how I behave or will behave and will ultimately
have no effect since it is all axiomatic. Maybe I am an Orwellian flunky as
you say but aren't you a little bit naive to ask a question about censorship

FWP, -- AOL does not seem to have to censer us. We seem to be able to see, the
people that would need to use someone else's brain to be able to have a thought.

Kris - Citations may not be needed, but must we be abused by such as this person?

As far as the list, it seems as if the ones that would complain about it, are the
ones that would like to take it over. To them something that is this good a
collaboration, that works this well should be able to be taken over - by a hostile
take over, leveraged buy out or something. There are always some that can not
follow the rules, or want to make the ones in control think that something is
wrong.

Wait a minute! This makes me think of many University degrees. In olden times,
in some places (in this century) Universities believed in a comprehensive
curriculum. Buy a degree, like Bush Sr. did? This list seems to be something
that you do not see in a University, Free Thinkers that talk about all subjects
with all people. Universities specialize, some advocate testing at the grade
school level to make sure that students are not allowed to have a broad
background. This list is the opposite of that, and I would not change a thing.
If we have some fussing like this we must be doing something right. Can he go
now???

Thank You, Cow Pies have been known to be used for building, fuel, and to help some

As far as you assuming what I think and believe, so you think you are so good that you
should have control here and tell us the facts of life? Kinda like porno movies, When
that is all you can teach, you need to make a big deal of something that is easy to

This sounds like someone that does not like something so they want to put it into a
stereotype. Would you seriously keep someone like you on a discussion list, if the

Nay O' tp of Americanism. Pops Ayre knows all and sees all with "his head

Hey I guess we can all pack it in now since he has uncovered our "made-in-
America" scam. Well, it was a good scam for a while but good old FWP has
uncovered our nefarious activities. I'll go report everything to the AOL
Secret Police now and then we can close shop.

Re: [CTRL] AOL Conspiracy?

1999-02-07 Thread 1lls0081

 -Caveat Lector-

I can empathize with this statement! Still as far as CTRL is concerned, we are not
a debate list.. Overall, we throw out ideas and news and wait to see if someone else
is capable of finding or if they know something that disproves it.

To give you an idea - recently a box of Beetles photos were found in an attic. This
lead to the playing of John Lennin's song about everyone being the same (I forget the
tile). To me the 1960's were a time when people were fighting big business to evolve
to the next era. Live and Let Live, Viva La Difference! Think of John Denver (born
of a Air Force Test Pilot - what security clearance did his dad have), Coustou, Isaac
Asimov, Jaclyn Kennedy. These people are gone. What would they have been able to add
to this list? What did they know that they would have been told "Now is not the
time."

That Kennedy's death was to keep us from looking at what was really happening?
Where are the tax credits for solar energy (are they still there?) are there as many
companies
that are capable of researching solar energy?

They are going to air a special on Kennedy tonight, how are they attempting to write
history for the current generation? What was the real battle at that time? Does
anyone hear anything about MSG nowadays. Not to long ago it was a major thing to keep
it out of the food chain since it can excite brain cells to death. I apologize for
those that think of Kennedy as a shining part of the past - but his death was just to
side track people from the real issues. He was nothing more than the current
president during a time that this country was attempting to go forward. Going forward
in that was would have meant that they big corporations would not have had their
monopolies. So what do we have now? The World Bank.

Others that are (currently) still alive: Were they just singing the songs that would
sell, or could it be that they saw enough of what was happening that if asked (from
this mind set) that they might be able to tell you what kind of propaganda has been
Fosted on us?
Michael Martin Murphy "Osmosis", Michael McDonald-Kenny Loggins, Dolly Parton, Queen,
The Beach Boys. Add Ross Perot and ex-TX-speaker of the house White -- from their
angle, what would they see in this post - in this list?

Last question - why would people want to shut us list(s) like this? When they come on
list, will we bow to them? Will we recognize them or will we think that we are not
good enough, out of step with the times, that their criticisms are justified? Will
this list be efficient like the Nazis or effective like the Founding Fathers? I would
rather be effective than efficient, I abore efficiency, because it does not usually
only allows limited growth in one area. It makes the company reorganize often, as
soon as the company gets to be a certain size it realizes that it needs more ideas and
has to go outside the company to get them since they have kicked out all those
inefficient people that they could not completely utilize at that time.

Please excuse the number of threads in one post.

Second complain that the list is censored and that all "dissent" is taken away

is unsubbed, and his prophecy has been fulfilled. He probably will have a
great time with all his buddies saying how he got "censored" for his fight for
the truth on the bad old CTRL list. Sad.

start your own list. Simple, isn't it. Now as far as disruptive goes, FWP

Jamie. I do not include everyone in this pronouncement, obviously. I don't
assume anyone is wrong, my assertion is that due to it's nature and the fact
that it relies upon personal belief and faith that the position of those who
hold strong religious views are convinced that OTHERS are wrong, if they
